Pacific Ocean now reaches the Sierra Nevada Ranges. 2071, July 1st - EU launches the first space-based naval vessel, Hermes. 2074, UN collapses after a preventable mass starvation event in East Asia. The cliffs of Dover, fused to glass by the nuclear barrage, are now a war memorial to the 1,234,548,652 people that died on that day. 2128, May 21st - Diego Garcia taken by a joint PC-EU force. 2128, June 3rd - The triple-alliance begins an assault on Guam. 2128, November 11th - Guam falls. 2130, July 6th - Triple-alliance force begins an assault on the Hawaiian islands. 2132, January 12th - Hawaii falls. 2132, February 1st - Cease-fire called. 2132, April 29th - Skirmishes along the Canada-US and Mexico-US borders threaten to escalate. EU leaves the alliance. 2133, January 16th - Abortive LC attack on Dallas and Houston ignites a conflict on the southern borders of the US. 2135, March - October - Near continuous border skirmishes on north and south Borders of US. 2135, July 31st - Truce established between PC-LC and USA. 2137, March 2nd - African Independence League formed to oppose the increasingly oppressive Council. 2142, April - November - Small civil war fought in Africa. Results inconclusive. AIL and Council continue to co- exist. 2148, December 9th - Large space battle between LC and USA. Truce begins to fail. 2149, February 27th - LC forces attack the southern border of the US. 2149, April 4th - Landings on the west coast of the USA by PC. 2152, September - February - PC forces cross the Rocky Mountains. 2154, June 11th - Chicago falls. 2158, January 8th - Evacuations begin from Chesapeake Bay. 2159, November - December - Small space battles fought between LC and EU over the Kuiper belt. 2164, August 19th - Dark Dawns begins. Non-Terrestrial holdings: USA controls Mars and its moons. European Union controls Jupiter, Saturn and their respective moons as well as attempting to hold whatever part of the belt allows them direct access to the inner system from these holdings. Latin Confederacy controls Venus and a large section of the mid-system belt. Japan has a multitude of orbital facilities and also controls many "wandering" asteroid bases. Pacific Commonwealth controls the moon, a portion of the mid-system belt. Africa is still establishing their space network, but have the "elevator belt" a string of space elevators across central Africa that allow it to export to the EFM massive amounts of raw materials mined on Earth. Indo-Chinese controls Neptune, Uranus and Pluto, due to the distances however, these colonies unlike those of other nations are largely autonomous. Economic Free Market controls several gigantic stations on "planetary" orbits (thanks to some very clever and precise manoeuvring), EFM 1 lies just beyond Mars but on inside of the belt, EFM 2 is situated between Saturn and Jupiter, EFM 3 is under construction and will sit on the same orbit as EFM 1, but on the opposite side of the orbit. The EFM hold a near-monopoly on inter-faction trade and have the means to enforce it.
