Unknown to the many Jonathans that were fighting the two ISDs, Phong was
offship at the moment, working on one of his many pet projects.

Protected by an MS-DOS firewall, free for once of the many security
holes of UNIX, Win32 and more, he worked in peace, stretching out
through cyberspace, hunting for his prey.

Soon, Phong's pet project was about to commence. The ultimate torture
for a cyber-being such as Boyd.

:: View pans to an ancient Apple IIgs, complete with 20MB HD, 300 baud
modem, 1X CD-ROM and a few floppy drives. The modem is hooked up to a
line-noise simulator device, with the line connected to an identical
computer ::

Phong places to 5.25" disk in one of the drives and copies it's contents
to the 20MB HD (yeah, I know a measily 5.25" disk can't hold an "AI").

As Boyd #8472 forces his way back to consiousness, he sees a small
wireframe landscape appear before him - and a small, jagged hole that
suddenly begins sucking him in, bit by bit. He tries to run out of the
way - but the ancient processor of the IIgs slows him to a mere 0.5 FPS.
As Boyd tries to scream in pain as he is being serrated by the line and
assaulted by the noise Phong laughs maniacally - as the entire system
has now been cut off from any other access and has been set to loop him
back and forth.

The others shall follow...
Phong Nguyen

Skywalker-Boyd [you forgot about him, didn't you?] sensed Boyd #8472's
pain. Reaching out with the Force, he located Phong and dispatched on of
the Headhunters, Boyd #357 to deal with him. Irritated at having lost a
nanosecond of time, Boyd continued his pursuit of HIT-MAN and
Sheppard... [no one but Sheppard try and interrupt this part of the
story, please]

Boyd #357 approached the deserted planetoid. Shutting down all systems,
the Z-95 drifted in system. Since Phong had already been located using
the Force, sensors were not required and would only give the
starfighter's location away. He/it knew that Phong was in a small base,
located on the surface of the planetoid. Skywalker-Boyd had detected no
defences, at least, none capable of withstanding the impact of the
advanced proton torpedoes the Headhunter was equipped with.

Pulled in by the planetoid's gravity, Boyd #357 picked up speed and
before long, the base was in sight. A small compound, barely the size of
an ISD's command tower, covered by a transparisteel dome. Smiling
inwardly, Boyd powered up the Headhunter's systems. Before Phong was
aware of his presence, twin laser cannons opened up, shattering the
dome, as the 2 protorps armed and fired, targeted at the building Phong
was in. Pulling up and away from the blast area, Boyd #357 nodded
approvingly as the complex was obliterated [how a computer can nod, I
don't know. Just take my word for it, he did.] Of course, considering
how skilful Boyd had been at eluding death, he decided to make a
strafing run on the remains of the compound. A few minutes later,
satisfied that nothing could possibly be alive, Boyd #357 returned to
the battle still in progress.

Phong grimaced as another support beam had collapsed. The instant Boyd
had powered up the Headhunter, Phong's computerised defences had
activated, lowering Phong's room into a concealed underground bunker.
Although protected from the torpedo blasts, the laser strafing had
destabilised the area and the bunker had begun to collapse. Without
warning, the final beam at the far side of the room gave way and the
roof caved in. Phong barely had time to scream before he was buried by
rubble and soil.

Phong awoke several hours later. Above him, he could hear digging. As
light appeared, he could see a furry hand appear. Aliens. Phong grimaced
in revulsion. At least the hand looked too small to be a Wookie's. Phong
started to feel dizzy and passed out again, as a furry face appeared
above him.

Phong awoke again to find himself being carried somewhere, his mouth
gagged and hands and feet tied to a metal pole. He could barely move his
head up or down, but he could look to the side. Around him he could see
a metal corridor. Stacked up against the walls in some places, appeared
to be prosthetic arms. Curious. He suddenly came to a stop. Must have a
arrived at our desti- Before he could finish the thought, he was dropped
unceremoniously to the ground and banging his head against the metal
floor, once again passed out.

Phong awoke for the last time, finally able to identify his 'rescuer's.
Ewoks. What in the name of the Dark Lord of the Sith were they doing
here? Some where even dressed in rather shabby looking uniforms,
resembling those worn by TIE pilots. Of course! Phong remembered how
there were rumours of how Warlord Zsinj had tried to train primitive
aliens to fly starfighter. Vice Admiral Glasgow used to use the base for
research. There must have been a whole research centre underground that
Phong had never known about. Charles had always wanted expendable pilots
and Phong thought he had perfected it with TIE Droids. But this was even
better. Why waste valuable equipment, when you could rid the universe of
another alien? And of course there was the psychological problem that
the Rebels would have shooting at teddy bears. Genius Or so Phong
thought until he saw the evil glimmer in the 'teddy bears' eyes. Oh yes,
the project had a few problems. Overly aggressive behaviour. Oh, is that
a fire in the corner? How nice. Moving me closer? I'm quite warm where I
am. Really. I insist. Please, no. No. NNOOOOOO!!!!!......
Jonathan

As Phong was being forced towards the campfire, ready to be cooked, the
lead Ewok suddenly stiffens - then collapses. Suddenly, several more
collapse, and the camp panics. The two Ewoks who carry Phong, who is
tied to a wooden pole, are hungry and continue on their way - until the
unmistakable sound of a slugthrower echoes through the forest,
accompanied by shattering wood and yet more Ewoks dropping. Phong's
freedom is cut short, however, as he hits the ground head- first and
blacks out.

As he comes to, he sees that he is in a well-equiped medical room,
attended to by an old 2-1B droid. Phong is lead to what appears to be a
war room, with many Ewoks chattering in their native tongue and Basic.

"Greeting, Leftanant Nguyen. We are pleased to have rescued you, and
have learned of this "Boyd" that has run rampant over the Galaxy. The
others you met were barbaric fools, not worthy of life. As well, we wish
to join the Empire and take revenge against the Republic for the
contamination of our homeworld," spoke the leader of the tribe, who
appeared to have sustained many a battle.

"This is an interesting offer, and despite the fact that your kind once
supported the Rebellion, I accept your offer."

The Ewoks & Phong discuss the raid on the other tribe and the supplies
they captured, as well as the recovered material from the destroyed
base. As well, large number of ysalamiri protected the base, to prevent
the Republic from discovering it's location.

Several days later, a plan had been formed, information leaked that
Phong was dead, and a modified freighter moved out towards the hidden
base of Boyd...

A Z-95, piloted by Boyd #357 just exited hyperspace at Nav Point 1, and
began it's patrol - not knowing a stealthed ship awaited him. Massive
jamming suddenly poured forth from an modified EF-111 ECM craft, the
freighter disabled the Z-95, tractored it in and the group jumped to
hyperspace...

Boyd #357 and his companion Boyd #8472 only wanted the pain to stop. The
torture was doubly increased due to the fact that two now had to go
through a 300bps modem at the same time...

Some time later, with their memories of the past few days wiped, though
with the two of them still quite insane due to the torture were placed
aboard a decrepit freighter, with destination towards Earth. Upon exit
from hyperspace (and I'll say that Earth is in this galaxy, since Elim
was fried) the two AIs thought that the not-so-pristine planet was the
hideabout of Phong. Remembering the mission and the torture, the two
immediately opened fire on New York City, driving the ignorant humans
into a panic.

In the meantime, NORAD with the assistance of the Men in Black (who had
revealed themselves to USAF Space Command) retaliated and began sending
up modified F-22s armed with technology from the Men in Black...uterlly
destroying the freighter and the two AIs inside.

Soon after, Skywalker-Boyd learned of the destruction of his two AIs -
but not how or why, just where - and sent three Nebulon-B2 frigate to
exact revenge against the people of Earth. Any compassion for his own
people had long since been erased by the cold logic of computers and the
Dark Side of the Force.

Once again NORAD detected an alien craft - and promptly screamed for
help from the MiB. By now, the public learned of alien life and the MiB.
Even though riots broke out and panic set in, eventually life went back
to normal - until the three frigates jumped out and launched fighters.

USS Ohio, somewhere in the North Atlantic... On a terse command from UN
Space Command and NORAD, keys were turned, buttons pushed, and six
special missiles launched and sped towards the star frigates while an
air and space battle waged over the sky...
Phong Nguyen

Reaching out with the Force, Skywalker/Boyd sensed Phong's hand in the
trap he had been led into. Summoning the full might of the force, he
stopped the missiles in their tracks and flung them into the centre of
the sun. The missiles, heavily modified to carry warheads powerful
enough to knock of SDs set off a chain reaction, causing the sun to go
nova. Fleeing into hyperspace, Boyd's small fleet escaped. Earth,
however, was not so lucky. In the brief minutes before the shock wave
reached Earth, Boyd reached out again with the Force, levitated a single
being onto his flagship, 'Corrupter'.

Over the next several weeks, Boyd relentlessly hunted Phong down, but
could find no trace. Realising that Phong must be hidden from the Force,
Boyd searched every place where he could feel no Force presence.
Eventually locating the planet on which Phong was cowering, surrounded
by ysalamiri, Boyd pondered how best to deal with him. His Force powers
would of course be useless and a direct assault would be inefficient. At
last, an idea struck.

Admiral Boyd was enjoying command of 'Nelson'. Able to delegate duties
to other crew members, he was able to relax and enjoy the facilities on
offer. Consequently, when red alert sounded, he was in the holodeck,
enjoying the latest holonovel from Earth. Racing for the bridge, he
arrived there in time to see a massive spatial distortion covering the
viewscreen.

"Report"

"A massive rupture in the space time continuum just opened in front of
us. Engines are at full reverse, but we're being sucked in." Even at ful
power, there was nothing the impulse engines could do and the rupture
was preventing the warp drive from forming a stable warp field. Despite
the crew's best efforts, 'Nelson' was sucked in.

On the other side of the rupture he had just created, Skywalker/Boyd
waited with his fleet, ion cannons fully charged. When 'Nelson'
appeared, it was a simple matter to disable and board her. Taking
advantage of the transporter technology, Boyd carried out his twisted
scheme.

Phong was woken by a faint humming. Looking round him, he saw that he
was no longer in his base. He was instead chained up in what appeared to
be a primitive rack, in an ancient stone dungeon. On the other side of
the room, in a similar situation was none other than Timothy Jones.

Monitoring the holodeck from 'Nelson's bridge, Boyd smiled
contemptuously. Phong would soon break under the stress of having to
listen to Timothy for days on hand. There was no way to escape. All
Phong's tools ha been taken during transport , all interfaces were
protected and the holodeck would not respond to voice command. There
would be no escape.

You forgot about my Ewoks, didn't you!

::back to the story::

Space Station Babylon, unidentified system Humanity's last hope layed in
the Babylon Station. After their anti-ship missiles had been flung into
the Sun, the MiB managed to evac a few million, before Sol detonated.
Revengeful of their plight, they welcomed the Ewoks who had discovered
them, and plans were formed...

In the meantime, the leaked news that one LTCDR Phong Nguyen was dead
had already circulated the news channels...

Several days after Phong's capture, in USS Nelson's holodeck...
"AARRGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!"

Timothy Jones had enough of Phong's delusional rambling. Oh no, he just
*had* to not talk of SW vs. ST. Instead, he began rambling about anime,
Ewoks, KFC, and how Pepsi was better than Coke. With his intrinsic
knowledge of Treknology and his level of annoyance he broke free of his
shackles with a mighty yell and pull.

And proceeded to beat Phong unconscious, and beat him some more...

...And in the process activating his homing device, sending a tachyon
signal to the Ewoks - the only ones known to be equiped to recieve such
primitive communications...

USS Nelson Boyd #666, controlling AI for this ship noticed Jones had
broken free and beating the crap out of Phong. He turned his attention
to Phong's torture, inwardly smiling at the revenge given.

Suddenly, USS Nelson was surrounded by ships as a group of Ewok & Terran
warships appeared out of hyperspace. Ion cannon and EMP missiles fired,
disabling the ship once more. What they found was Timmy Jones, screaming
for his release, and their boss, Nguyen, unconscious. Upon waking, he
was taken to a rehab center, and mostly cured of his insanity.

Two weeks later... The Babylon Station was a well-armed station, built
upon an enlarged B4 design, capable of engaging an Executor-class SSD,
and easily larger than even that behemoth.

3 squadrons of "aquired" TIE Advanced fighters escorting a wing of
B-Wing bombers. A converted E-3C AWAC provided sensor support, with each
ship carring ysalamiri...the lessons brought upon Earth were bitterly
remembered...

There was no warning, no time. Boyd's computer-hacking facility,
supposedly hidden, was destroyed completely and utterly. Proton
torpedoes and ion cannon fire ripped through the base, while several
tacnukes were fired, their omnidirectional nature glassing the
base...nothing was left...

Another base, his forward supply depot, was hit hard. Waves of Harrier
II+ fighters, taking advantage of their superior atmospheric
capabilites, raided the base, destroying defenses and providing fighter
cover while marines captured the base, taking much-needed supplies and
material. A 500MT warhead was planted, and detonated after the mission
was completed.

For some time Boyd & Nguyen played this game of intergalactic chess...a
ship here, a base there, a system over there. Ancient powers called
upon, dark Force Storms battling magickal vorticies. AI battling Ewok,
and Q getting amused.

Cyperspace, somewhere around what remains of the Sol System... A massive
datafortress laid in ruins...the forces of the Boyd had overrun its
defenses and taken the precious treasure inside, then destroyed
it...within was the exact coordinates of Babylon, and the key to
victory.

Engima System The Babylon Station had been constructed here in the early
days of the MiB. The immense gravitational fluxes from the black hole in
the center of the system extended to reach even the Force and the
magickal ley lines feeding in the the system - and scrambling it all.
Any being attempting to use either of the powers would surely destroy
themselves - as many a Sith, Jedi and Mage had found in the eons past...

0945 local time... A massive fleet suddenly appeared out of hyperspace,
in the outskirts of the system, and began to approach the station. Jump
points flared and the Terran/Ewok fleet jumped out in defense of the
station. There were no chances for such tricks as Force Storms - each
fleet was equal in firepower and size...
Phong Nguyen

The battle raged for 12 hours. 20 thousand ships locked in a deadly
dance, weaving in and out, forming and breaking formations, unleashing
tremendous energies. Five times, Boyd assaulted the station, but 5 times
he was driven back by the intense fire. Again and again, he flung waves
of Dreadnoughts, ISDs, HSDs, Mon Cals against it, but again and again he
was driven back. In each assault, he weakened the station further, but
in each one, his forces were weakened. He was a better strategist and
tactician than Phong, but Phong had the home field advantage. With his
Force powers, Boyd could have dealt with Phong and his followers once
and for all, but these infernal black holes prevented it. The sixth wave
was launched.

Phong called for another cup of coffee. He had been awake for days,
coordinating the station's defenses and couldn't afford to sleep now, in
the moment of its greatest need. the station shook as each heavy TL
struck it. Boyd's ships fired recklessly, knowing that their shots would
hit the station, even if they missed the original target. He longed to
access Boyd's computer systems, but he had learned from previous attacks
and had constructed safeguards that not even Phong could penetrate. He
sighed wearily and rested his head against the command chair, only to be
shaken awake by a tremendous jolt. Boyd's sixth assault on the station
had begun.

The 30 cruisers ploughed through the defenders' formations. Escorted by
Lancer frigates, they held back their fighters, under the shields, as
Phong's took heavy losses. Led this time by Mon Remonda, Han's mutilated
corpse still stuck to her bows, the taskforce reached the station with
only 20% casualties. Launching fighters, they began pounding the
station. This close, there was no way they could miss or that the
station could miss them, but any other ships that tried to interfere
risked hitting the station. One after another, the ships were destroyed,
blown apart by a variety of heavy weapons. At last, only 5 Mon Cal
cruisers remained, among them, Mon Remonda. Receiving a transmission
from Home One, Boyd's temporary flagship, Boyd #1946283 prepared the
secret weapon.

As Mon Remonda's shields buckled and flared under the assault, a hatch
blew open on her port bows. A stream of high yield torpedoes, each in
the region of 250megatonnes, leapt forwrds, impacting almost instantly
on the station's shields. Collapsing temporarily, they were unable to
resist the next crucial attack. A second hull section blew away and a
grid 1000 wide and 1000 deep blasted towards the station. 1 million
lightsabres, equipped with small repulsor units, each piloted by a Boyd
AI sliced through the sation's hull. They ignored the wailing sirens,
warning of the huge hull breach. They ignored the destruction of Mon
Remonda and her escorts. They ignored the screams of crewmen as the
sabres sliced through them, taking the shortest route to the station's
most critical systems. Within a few minutes, power couplings were
severed, shield generators were cut out of the hull, weapons
emplacements were cut loose and sent spinning off into space.

As the lights dimmed and didn't come back on, Phong knew the station was
lost. He wasn't sure what Mon Remonda had done, but it had been enough.
All around him, there were reports that shields were failing, weapons
were no longer firing. The battle would soon be lost. On the huge
Battlefield Display unit, he could see Home One and her 3 Executor class
escorts and countless smaller gunships, lancers and frigates bearing
down on the station. Without shields, there was no way they could
resist that much firepower. He reached over to activate the self
destruct, hoping that the explosion would destroy part of Boyd's fleet.
To his horror, a pair of lightsabres burst through the deck beside him,
cutting through the destruct systems. Finally realising what had
happened, Phong dashed for the escape pods, covering his ears so as not
to hear the death screams of his comrades.

Boyd smiled grotesquely. Another huge broadside from 'Arbitrator' blew
away a huge chunk of the station's hull. Already, some of Phong's fleet
was fleeing, while other ships signalled their surrender. Laughing at
them, Boyd called in his reserves. 2000 capital ships, including over 50
cruiser class ships flashed into existance, just out of weapons range at
the edge of the battlefield. Acompanied by a score of interdictors, they
effectively blockaded the only way in or out of the system. The number
of surrenders instantly trippled. Sweeping aside the last vestiges of
resistance round the station, Taskforce Delta-Three formed up and moved
to engage the remaining ships that held out against Boyd's fleet. With
the station gone, the battle was easily his. Phong had underestimated
him, thinking that the Force was his only strength. Undoubtedly it would
come as a shock to Phong if he knew that Boyd was related to Thrawn. Or
at least it would have before today. Now Phong probably thought of him
as Thrawn himself. Sighing contentedly, Boyd gave orders for the
fighters to chase down and disable or destroy escape pods. Relaxing, he
tried to decide which wepon would be nest for finishing off the few
remaining Ewoks. lightsabre, flamethrower, nerve agent, hordes of teddy
bear deprived children....
Jonathan

Quietly slipping away from the battle, Nguyen's command escape pod,
equipped with the finest in sensor stealth technology short of a cloak,
drifted away. Several days later, out of Boyd's sensor range, a jump
point activated and the pod slipped into hyperspace, her passenger never
to be heard of for some time...

Meanwhile, Skywalker-Boyd was celebrating his final victory over his
adversary. The oh-so-annoying Ewoks were being skinned and their meat
savoured by those in his army still corpreal. He planned to mask his
true evil by stuffing the Ewoks and sending them as giant teddy bears to
needy children across the Galaxy...

In the mean time, Babylon's primary reactor containment chamber drifted
through the battlefield, carrying its deadly cargo. Boyd had been quite
careful not to destroy it - but missed one critical part. His
lightsabres had destroyed the computer control systems as well, and the
backups were not suited to handling operations for extended periods
long. Contained inside was the awesome force of two jump-points opening
within each other continually, barely contained within by the finest
shielding technology available.

Skywalker-Boyd was nearly caught unaware. His flagship, Home One, an SSD
and several escorts were on the edge of the battlefield, preparing to
leave. Suddenly, the containment field on the Babylon's reactor
destabilized and the two jump-points grew full-size and the titanic
forces of hyperspace were unleashed upon the victors. Skywalker-Boyd and
his small group of ships barely were able to escape, jumping to
hyperspace seconds before the energy wave hit his position.

Boyd was enraged. Upon leaving hyperspace, he discovered few ships left
from the reactor explosion. Home One, an SSD, four Lancer-class frigates
and three ISD2s were left intact, with another dreadnought heavy
damaged. But, he thought, Nguyen is dead - and if he's not his fleet is
lost. His pathetic attempt at a rebellion crushed. Here he had a proud
battlegroup, and Nguyen had *nothing*.

Kilrah System Nguyen's Hidden Base #A2F

Nguyen knew that Babylon was vulnerable as soon as he discovered that
Terran computers once held her location. Contingency plans were drawn
up, and the Kilrah system, blanketed by the Force due to the countless
billions killed here, was selected, her location entrusted to a select
few. The Force was strong here - too strong. As water is neccessary for
life but too much will kill you, here the Force smothered all who dared
us it. Nguyen had charted all the anomilies in the Force and space-time,
and used his knowledge to make back-up bases.

Plans were made, automated mining facilities and shipyards acitvated -
and the recall order came in over the galactic communications network.
It was time to begin Phase 2.

Years later, Asgard System Boyd datafortress

The once mighty fortress, heavily defended and shielded was burning.
Sporadic fighting still occured - but the invaders had the initiative
and soon the precious datacard vaults were found. A furry hand reached
out to one very special card...and Boyd's mistake was discovered.

Midgard System Boyd Supply Convoy #3F6A4C

There was no warning, no time to escape. Jump-points opened within the
fleet, destroying some ships outright, damaging others. The convoy's
escorts came next, withering under the intense firepower of the ungainly
Nova-class dreadnought. Her gunship escorts destroyed fighters and added
to the carnage - soon there was nothing left but wreckage. Their mission
complete, they escaped to the reddish hell of Hyperspace.

Boyd's ground forces and controlling AIs waited desperately for
supplies. They were promised a convoy a week ago - and it never came.
They were down to less than a day of consumables - and the infernal Mon
Calamari were in a perfect position to counterattack...which began an
hour later.

The system was retaken in the name of the Republic. For no military can
survive long without supplies...

Bespin System Boyd Tanker Squadron #45AF7

The tanker group, mostly made of converted transports, and her Corellian
gunship escorts waited for the fighter and bomber group to exit
hyperspace and begin fueling. Out of SW-Hyperspace came not friendly
fighters, but long-range Space-F-14D interceptors. Missiles fired from
the inbound bogies - slamming into their targets, obliterating them. The
fighters lept into hyperspace once again, leaving no trace of their
being there.

The incoming B-Wings with their TIE/Adv escorts found only wreckage
where their tankers were supposed to be. Without fuel, they were forced
to head to a nearby base - aborting the raid on the Imperial fleet.

Hyperspace Midway Battlegroup

Nguyen laughed manically. Boyd's convoys were being hit badly, and the
forces who opposed the insane intelligence had a chance. Logistics were
an important part of warfare - one that Boyd had overlooked. Convoy
escorts were paltry, unable to withstand heavy warships. Boyd faced a
choice - send larger warships to the convoys and reduce his front-line
fleets - or leave his convoys with poor protection, leaving his
front-lines without supplies.

Nguyen no longer used the H&K hyperdrive often. His hyperspace-jump
drive chief advantage was of total suprise against his enemies, even if
it was a bit slower and harder to navigate. Many of Boyd's convoys never
knew what hit them.

The Fleet was built up once again, taking advantage of the Outer Rim's
vast mineral wealth. The Bablyon Station was rebuilt and now mobile - a
ship capable of taking on the heavy command ships of Boyd. A massive,
experimental plasma cannon was installed on the Midway herself - enough
firepower to destroy fleets by itself. While power-hungry, her firepower
more than made up for it.

Soon, the core fleet jumped into realspace - right outside a major
shipyard. The plasma cannon fired, its raw destructive power
annihilating their main fleet. The special MiB anti-ship missiles came
next, annihilating the yard. Sporadic turbolaser fire returned,
destroying several corvettes - but it wasn't enough. Nguyen returned to
hyperspace with another victory.

Skywalker-Boyd was not pleased. Not at all. Reports of missing convoys,
tanker squardrons gone MIA, shipwayrds annihilated. Nguyen had been much
more careful this time. He could never win in a direct engagement
according to estimates (of which he did not really trust). Instead, he
went for the vital backbone of his military, the supplies and repair
facilities. Without them, the war was lost - Force or no Force.
