Space was called as such as it was a fitting word to describe the state
of things in the area. Only an infinitely small amount of it actually
had anything IN it. As such its not surprising that the finite beings
living in the infinite area for whatever reason decided to fight over
the small pockets of matter floating in the vacuum.

In a system towards the edge of the greater Magelenetic cloud above the
Milky Way, an area of space suddenly became anything BUT space. Just
outside parking orbit of the planet, 4 interdimenional rifts slammed
open. The thousands of garrisoned troops on the planet had to shield
their eyes from the bright blue-white glare of four dagger-shaped
profiles blazing into existence. A few seconds later, four deep black
ships ranging from 400 to 1200 kilometers long finished their exit from
the dimensional slipway and established themselves in four-dimensional
space. Sleek and deep black, the clear turreted silhouettes didn't need
to communicate to establish their design and purpose. Already, the
planets defenses were coming up while junior officers desperately tried
to hail the four ships whose silent hovering was far more frightening
then any grand announcement could be. Several repeated hails went
unnoticed and after several fighter squadrons decided to do a close
flyby, all hell broke lose.

The escorting 400 kilometer long ship closest to the squadrons let lose
with torrents of energy weapons of varying types. Within a second, the
closest wing had been swatted from space. Immediately the few capital
ships in orbit opened fire to little effect. Pulse weapons were
intercepted by some kind of blue counter-pulse, which flung themselves
upon energy bolts or missiles, destroying the incoming weapons. Beam
weapons hit bubble shields of incredible power, not getting so much as a
scratch. In return, powerful superlasers emitted from secondary weapons
emplacements reached out and touched the Taelon ships in orbit, reducing
them to disassociated particles drifting through orbit. Within twenty
seconds, all defenses had been nullified by one of the ships. Then with
amazing maneuverability for ships of their size they moved into orbit
over the major landmass. A few surface-to-space weapons fired...and were
simply ignored by the behemoths. From the biggest 1200 klick long
flagship a dozen thick orange beams of high-energy phaser fire lanced
down to the surface. The nadions released greedily ate up the crust in
carefully choreographed moves creating titanic deep canyons across
thousands of kilometers for several minutes. Then the primary quad
turrets on the ship moved firing low powered and carefully targeted
superlaser blasts, which drilled large holes at points in the formation
through to the lower mantel creating a massive vent for the core. The
Magma would eventually make its way up but a more immediate effect was
needed. So from all the ships thousands of green hues of Borg tractor
beams lanced out. Interlaced with a graviton pulse, the carefully
targeted beams quickly started to slow the rotation of the planet until
it was at a standstill. The force immediately sent great spurts of magma
blasting out of the ground, filling the massive canyons up and igniting
fires in the areas around them for kilometers. That area of the planet
was now facing away from the systems star and as such in darkness apart
from the massive red-orange glow across a large part of the primary
landmass.

Satisfied with their work, the ships did a single sensor sweep with the
advanced class 2A Hegemony array on the flagship ensuring there was
nothing alive around and that all ships were down for the count. Then
their hulls again glowed a molted blue-white and with a bright flash,
vanished.

Several hours later a warship arrived back from a patrol. The bridge
crew was left speechless at the devastation. Even crazier was the
writing across half the land of the planet easily visible from high
orbit without any magnification.

"I looked and there was a pale-colored horse. Its rider was named Death,
and Hades followed close behind. They were given authority over one
fourth of the Earth to kill by means of war, famine, disease and wild
animals." Under it a massive smiley face with a diameter of 1900
kilometers was etched into the surface. A third 'eye' apparently, but
closer examination would show a network of smaller canyons of lava
leading away from it creating a convincing image of a headshot.

"Ah crap" was all the Captain could think to say.

Sanchez rubbed his temples as he listened to the Taelon representative.
There had been a brutal suprise attack against one of their planets by an
unknown enemy.  All that they could determine that they were amazingly
powerful.  The video clip was more than enough to reinforce that concept.

"I can understand your situation, and I promise that the SRDC is always
ready to attack those who would threaten the peace," he said, "But we know
as little as you about the threat."  That was, of course, a baldfaced lie,
but it was close enough to the truth.

The Taelon nodded and cut the connection.  Sanchez took another look at
the intelligence report.  After the initial discovery of the mining
operation near Hegemony space, intel had attempted to determine the reason.
Little had been determined, but the study had found increased mobilization
of trained crewmen, gearing up of weapons factories, which had cut off a few
months ago.  The extrapolation was that the Hegemony had built a massive
warship.  From the mineral exploitation that had been found, the ship could
be as large as 1000 kilometers in length.

If the ship was that large and correspondingly powerful, the attack
would be well within its reach.  And that melodramatic message and smiley
face was pure O'Farrel.

Sanchez was tired of this crap.  He punched up a connection with the
construction foreman.  "How complete is the Lord Rog's order?" he asked.

The foreman frowned.  "We've got it up to ninety-four percent, sir.  All
we have to install now is the backup generators and the secondary life
support."

"Send it to him, and apologize for their status, tell him that we needed
to the yards for our own very important purposes.  Do not elaborate,"
Sanchez ordered.

"I don't think I could elaborate if I tried, sir.  Should I give him a
discount?"

"Of course," he said, "And I want you to produce our new ships.  Okay?"

    "Yessir."  Sanchez cut the connection.

He drummed his fingers on the desk, and cursed.  Why would the Hegemony
attack now?  It didn't really matter, but it was his duty to protect the
profits of the Company, and if he had to go to war, he would.

New Ship Classes-

Hood Class Battleship-
Length: 4.9 km
Weapons: Rapid fire and tracking HTLs (1200), Heavy Missile Tubes (450),
Heavy Turrets (4), Phalanx-15 Defensive Weapon
Shields: Heavy
Speed: Slow
FTL: Fold Drive, backup Hyperdrive

The Hood is the newest capital ship designed by the SRDC.  It is heavily
armed, with the centerpiece of her armament being her four heavy turrets.
The turrets fire a powerful particle beam, which can be made to fire in
pulses or beams.  Each pulse is 20 times more powerful than a HTL, but has a
rate of fire of 10 shots per minute.  The beam is continuous, and will have
delivered the same amount of energy at the end of a minute.  The weapon has
a range of 400,000 km.  The Hood Class does not carry fighters.

Unit Run- 7
Hood
Yamamoto
Prince of Wales (Under Construction, soon to be completed)
(Four more vessels, yet to be named, are the initial stages of
construction.)

Antietam Class Light Cruiser-
Length: 2.5 km
Weapons: Rapid Fire and Tracking HTLs (650), Heavy Beam Cannons (10),
Phalanx 15 defensive system
Shields: Average
Speed: Fairly Fast
FTL: Fold Drive, Backup Warp (cruising speed of 9.8)

The Antietam Class is the newest fast strike weapon.  It is meant to
supplement and add fire to the large fleet of existing Belisarius
Destroyers.  The 10 beam cannons are mounted on the bow.  They can inflict
massive damage on a target, but the ship must be manually turned for them to
be fired on it.  They can fire up to 22 degrees off axis.  This ship's
weapons necesitate too large a generator to allow a fighter complement.

Unit Run- 400
Antietam
Gettysburg
Verdun
Waterloo
et al

Wasp Class Fleet Carrier-
Length: 8 km
Weapons: 30mm Vulcan Railguns (900), Phalanx 15 defensive system
Fighters: 912 fighters, all types
Shields: Very Heavy
Speed: Very Slow
FTL: Fold Drive, Backup Hyperdrive

The Wasp Class is the newest carrier.  It is intended to service large
fleets operations, and is thusly not built for speed.  The ship carries a
complement of the new 30mm Vulcan Railguns, which are intended to attack
small ships that may penetrate the Carrier's escort screen.  With a rate of
fire of 2500 rpm, and 900 guns mounted, the weapons are capable of
inflicting severe damage on almost any target.

Unit Run- 20
Wasp
Hornet
Locust
et al

Swarm Drone Fighter
Length: 10 m
Weapons: Beam Cannon (4)
Shields: Light
Speed: Fast
FTL: NA

The Swarm Drone Fighter is an adaptation of other pilotless fighters that
the SRDC has fielded in the past.  It is no more intelligent or creative
than any previous type, but it defeats them all in cheapness.  A full
squadron of Drones can be built for the same price as a single Khan Fighter,
and 1.5 times as many can be serviced by the same carrier.  They are not
intended for small engagements or to attack capships (although they can
destroy smaller vessels with a concentrated attack).  They are meant to be
deployed in overwhelming numbers, to destroy the fighter screen of an enemy
and leave him open for capship and bomber strikes.

"Ah Shit."

It wasn't the Taelon captain who was speaking. The person in question
was many lightyears from the stricken planet which the Taelon orbited.
Rather, it was Lord Deimos, ruler of the Vengeful Hegemony of Romulan
Wrath.

"Our allies have done what?" Deimos asked.

"As I said, my lord. They have moved against Transcend's Taelon forces.
Intel has returned us... this"

The clone officer removed a dataclip and moved to a computer in the wall
of the conference room, just off the primary bridge of the _Phallus_.
Inserting the chip, he began playback of a visual sequence captured by
one of the VHRW's cloaked recon drones.

Deimos looked at the images on the screen. It was a planet, class-M.
However, in one section, the beutiful blues and greens of ocean and
vegetated land, had been replaced by the scarlet-orange glow of molten
magma surging over a desolated landscape. The destruction was not
random. Etched into the planet's surface in molten magma, was an
apocalyptic inscription, that Deimos guessed was probably from one of
Earth's old religious texts, and below that, a similarly etched graphic
of a smily face, shot through the head.

Deimos Anomaly stared at the image for several seconds. Then he sighed.

"O'Farrel".

"My lord?" asked the clone, confused.

"It's nothing lieutenant. Dismissed." said Deimos. Standing, the leader
of the VHRW left the room, and went to his pivate quarters.

Deimos was unsure what course of action to take. His gut reaction was to
move to bolster his allies in any military action they might take... But
the Taelon forces were also *officially* at peace with the VHRW.

Deimos weighed the pros and cons for a number of hours. The Taelons had
various pieces of unique technology which Deimos had aquired under
license. They were supposedly unreproducable, with charges that, in the
event of any attempt to tamper, were set to destroy themselves and
kill/injure the person doing the tampering. However, VHRW R&D had
notified Deimos that they believed they were close to identifying and
neutralising the defensive mechanisms on these charges themselves, which
would then enable the charges to be beamed out. The technology could
then be analysed in much greater detail, and reverse-engineered.
Therefore, even if Transcend did suspect Deimos' hand in any attack, the
VHRW should not suffer too much from a cutting of all trade exchanges
between itself and the Taelons. And there was always the chance that
Transcend would suspect nothing...

Deimos keyed open a comm chanel to Telek, a highly decorated human clone
who was his chief of intelligence.

"Telek"

"Yes my lord. What do you require?"

"I need the personal schedule of the Taelon ambassador for the next
week."

"Yes my lord. We may actually have it already, as part of our general
intelligence gathering operations involving the ambassadors of all the
main factions in the galaxy."

"Call me when you have what I need"

"Yes my lord."

Deimos reviewed the plan he had formulated in his head. It should work.
But it would require impeccably precise hyperjump calculations, and a
detailed knowledge of the ambassador's personal schedule. Closing his
eyes, he allowed the Force to flow through him. Looking forward into the
future, he tried to determine if the plan was sure of success. However,
as was often the case, the future regarding such a mission was clouded.
He sensed that it was very likely to succeed, but he could not be
absolutely sure.

Less than ten minutes had gone by, when abruptly, Deimos' desk comm
cheeped, bringing him out of his meditative state. He keyed the chanel
open at his end, and the small desktop screen came on to show the face
of Telek. The chief had a slight grin on his face, though it quickly
disappeared, to be replaced by his normal neutral look, as he saw his
master on the screen.

"My Lord, I have the information you require."

"Excellent" Deimos was pleased. "This is exactly what I require. You
have done well." The intelligence chief couldn't control his mouth
completely at that point, and Deimos noticed the slight smile that
touched his lips as he basked in the praise of his supreme overlord.
Deimos cut the channel. Then he opened a new one, to lieutenant Ganzil,
a clone who held the title 'Chief of Outcraft Operations', defining him
as the man responsible for making sure that ships were got ready and
checked when Deimos wanted them launched. Of course, he didn't check
everything himself, since the total number of capital ships (counting
Defiants) numbered over a million. However, he gave the orders in the
area, and, excepting direct orders from Deimos, had a fair abount of
autonomy in the bay area.

Deimos regarded him for a second, and then spoke. "I require a single
Star Destroyer got ready. The crew should be the normal mix of clones
and Terminators, however, I will want several combat squads of
Terminators detailed to the main hangar of the Star Destroyer."

"Yes my lord."

"Thank you. Oh, and instructions on the mission will be transmitted
directly to the star destroyer's computer by me, once the crew are
onboard and it has been cleared for launch."

"Yes lord".

Deimos cut the channel. He waited.

A short time later he was informed that the Imperator-2 class SD was
cleared for launch, and was moving out over the maw of _Phallus_'s main
bay. Deimos punched the switch that transmitted the mission orders.

The ISD2 dropped out of the _Phallus_'s hangar, and accellerated away
with a bright flare from it's ion engines. As it went, the hyperjump
computer was calculating a jump, to very exacting specifications, based
on the mission orders they had recieved. A few moments passed, and the
ship aligned itself, and shot forward into hyperspace.

-*-
Lightyears away.

The Taelon ambassador headed back to his shuttle after another wearying
day in the ASVS senate. He had been standing by the Taelon Senator
during the day's debate. There had been much speculation about the attack on one of his government's planets, but no conclusion had been
reached as to who was responsible. Despite the fact, that
representatives of the guilty parties had likely been among the persons
in that very chamber, but had played along, faking innocence. These
thoughts depressed him, as his private shuttle rose out of the
atmosphere. He looked out the viewport at the blackness of space as the
craft rose toward it.

Suddenly, space changed. In a moment, a split second, a huge warship
appeared with a flicker of pseudomotion. It was an Imperator-2 class
Star Destroyer, and it had obvioulsy been yanked out of hyperspace by
the planet's gravity well. It had materialised incredibly close, almost
on top of him. His pilot tried frantically to avoid and go around, but
even as he did...

A tractor beam lanced from it's emitter near the hangar mouth, snaring
his craft. "What are they doing?" the ambassador cried out in sudden
fear.

The shuttle was dragged into the hangar and set down on the deck. As
soon as this was done, the ISD2 engaged maximum thrust away from the
planet, and then shot into hyperspace again.

Inside the shuttle, the ambassador's personal gaurd of Bio-surrogates
formed a protective screen around him. There was tense silence. Waiting.

The door blew open, and four T-800s leaped through. They engaged the Bio
-Surrogates in fierce fighting, and several were destroyed on both
sides. However, the bio-surrogates were quickly overcome, being
hopelessly outnumbered. A stun-blast stabbed out at the ambassador, and
he collapsed to the deck.

By the time he woke up, he would be back on the _Phallus_, in a jail
cell.

BWA HA HA HA HA!

The Birds of Prey kept a quiet watch over the 'Vessel' that dwarfed everything
around it in magnitude, how here they supposed to protect a vessel that they
were insects compared to the Fenari did not know, The system's primary had
destabilized for a time, and had ignited the Two largest Gas giants, the
resulting Gravitational and atomic stresses had torn all of the other planets in
the system into shreds, it was now a trinity system with tons of asteroids
surrounding it, however Hegemony mining operations had removed all of the
voluble resources from those a year ago.  They watched as the ship drew
asteroids into new patterns with her powerful tractor beams.  The Clusters were
now assembled like a halo around the three stars just far enough to support life
and retain a certain gravitational reaction Using powerful tractor beams and a
Torpedo that in it's self was Half the size of each of the Birds of Prey, a
cluster of asteroids condensed, the heat of the friction liquefied the asteroids
closest to the new gravitational force, and melted it, however they were now
trapped by their new gravitational reaction.  The new 'Planet' was still
semilquid covered in molten iron, when the vessels, transporters started beaming
down matter.  The pattern buffers contained the atomic composition of a number
of elements in her memories, and the bare planet would need them.

The Ship then proceed to consume some more of the carefully arranged asteroids
and performed the action twice more.  Now there were three Io like planets, with
heavy radioactive and volcanic activity on them.  Consuming more asteroids the
ship began to layer each world with more iron, and silicon, until they were nice
large barren worlds.  Consuming the last of the space Debris her transporters
began beaming down bonded atoms of Hydrogen and Oxygen.  forming a liquid
covering over most of the Silicon/Iron base, on each of the three planets.  The
last act of the ship was to beam down simple plant life, before engaging her
fold system.  The Birds of Prey would be dispatched to notify the new owners of
the system with the location of their new colony worlds.

Nice, only a few mistakes. You forgot a Taelon always has a Companion Protector with him at all times, and that this one would be me....

Deimos Anomaly wrote:

But suddenly the Taelon staggered to his feet, the foolish Terminators had
appairently forgotten that Taelons are energy based lifeforms and not very
affected by stun weapons. They had also forgotten Col. Transcend, who had
been in the back of the shuttle. Suddenly Ta'or discharged a pulse of
energy which disabled some of the nearby terminators. "Get down sir!",
yelled Transcend. "It's not safe." Transcend fired his skrill, the high
powered blasts vaporising several terminators. "Some allies these turned
out to be", he muttered. Once Ta'or was back in the shuttle Transcend fired
up the shields, and activated the mini-cloak. It wouldn't hold out for very
long, it was too simply too small and would quickly burn out. Transcend
activated the ID drives and the ship blasted into ID space and safety, but
not before a signal was sent though ID Space. Moments later every piece of
Taelon tech aboard Deimos' ships was destroyed, blasted to molecular dust.
Seconds later they came out of ID, to the comforting home of the Base
Station. Ta'or, somewhat disoriented, was taken to the med bay, while
Transcend ordered the station to ID Space. Someone would pay for this.

"Fucking Hell!", Transcend shouted as he read the reports. First an attack
on a Taelon colony, and now an attack on Ta'or and himself. "I kept telling
the Synod that we needed more ships *here* instead of watching those
Jaridians. Maybe now they will listen."

Listen they did, a few hours later a reply came. The Taelons were sending
20 of the new Class One Battleships, 200 Heavy Cruisers type 2a, 50 Heavy
Cruisers tybe 2b, and 500 type 1 Cruisers. They were *immediately*
authorised to construct more ships as well, and the stockpile of Core
Energy would be tripled. Meanwhile there was a score to settle.

The ID Tracker, the only Taelon device that had not self destructed aboard
Deimos' ship, led them straight to the system. The phase-cloak provided
enough protection from their sensors. small automated ships were lanched.
The ID Drives of these ships were pulsed and a system wide Interdiction
field was created (so easy to do with Taelon tech...).  The Taelon Base
Station then jumped to ID again, to a safe distance light-years away.
Finally a pulse was fired, and the star which Deimos' fleet orbited
exploded in a massive supernova. "Check and mate", said Transcend as he sat
back and watched the report, "Check and mate."

Taelon ships

(the new batch)

Class One Battleships are the newest ships in the Taelon fleet. Each is
larger then a Taelon Mothership and is equipped with 20 hybrid Taelon and
Jaridian technology Weapons Pods. Each pod contains a few particle cannons
and each pod has enough firepower to destroy an entire planet in the blink
of an eye (yep, full on planetbusters). The ships have been equiped with
Taelon regenerative armor reinforced with triple layer Virtual Glass (very
tough stuff). This combined with their shields make them capable of taking
a light superlaser hit without serious damage. A heavier superlaser hit
would massively damage it though (it might take whole minutes before the
ship was capable of running) and has a slight possibility of killing it
(literally, these ships are alive).

Type 1 Cruisers

These are your base model cruisers used by the Taelons, they have limited
weapons and defensive systems. They are similar in size to Defiant class
ships.

Type 2 Heavy Cruisers

All are varients on the standard Type One.

a) The Type B is equipped with heavy regenerating armor reinforced with two
layers of virtual glass, with it's shielding added it would take a low
level superlaser (Eclipse equilivant) to take it out. It's manuverability
is high however, making it hard to target with heavy weapons. It has
Jaridian Taelon hybrid weapons, but not the equilivant of a full pod. It
still has enough firepower to effectively blast a planet with a single shot
(think Eclipse superlaser).

b) Type B is an extended version of the type A. It has roughly the same
defenses, but due to it's larger size has a full sized weapons pod, with
planetbusting capabilities.

All ships are equipped with phased cloaking devices originally provided by
Deimos, but improved upon by Taelon and Human Engineers.

As Pablo stood on the bridge of his new ship, the _Hood_, he didn't notice
the flash of Cronau radiation one AU astern.

Slowly, with her new sensor-stealthed drives, the ISS _Yavin_, a heavily
modified Executor Class SSD, moved into firing position.

The Yavin was an old hand, hearkening back to the days of the Return of
Sheppard and the Great ASVS FAQ Civil War, after having spent the last
eight months in dry dock, having the damage O'Farrell had done when he
had hi-jacked the _Hoth_, the _Yavin's_ sister ship, repaired.

The mighty AEGIS XXI SPY-99A1 system that had done so much damage in
the FAQ war had been upgraded to the A3 standard, and was currently
operating in stealth mode, listening to the main drives of the _Hood_.

Sheppard looked at the stern of Pablo's new ship. With a sneer, he growled
"Fire."

Ten seconds later, fifty Shipwreck III Block 2 missiles slammed into the _Hood_,
blasting the shields down, and turning the massive 4.9 km long battleship
into a drifting scrap heap in mere seconds, with huge sections of hull torn out,
and her engines charred lumps.

[NOTE: Shipwreck III Block 2s are the size of Corellian Corvettes :D]

"Get us out of here." ordered Sheppard. The Navs slammed the hyperdrive
enage levers down, using a course that had been pre-computed before
their attack, and the _Yavin_ disappeared in a flash of radiation, leaving
a now enraged Sanchez on a floating wreck of a ship.

The reinforcements had merely been the first wave. Word had come that the
entire Taelon Empire was gearing into a new wartime production mode. Every
world that supported a shipyard was growing ships, there would be thousands
of power ships within days. The shipyard of the Taelon Base Station in the
ASVS dimension was also gearing up, it would be putting out thousands of
smaller ships per day. The Taelons had been intent on being a small
presense in ASVS, or at least somewhat distant. The entirety of the
Commonality had *felt* the dying of thousands of Taelons, most less then a
year old (Taelons grow into adults *very* quickly...with fully functional
genetic memories from their parents). For a species that had lifespans on
the order of thousands of years, this was an unspeakable tragedy. The
Taelon Synod, no the entire Commonality itself, cried out for vengence. A
massive taskforce of thousands of ships, each with more then enough power
to destroy several worlds at once, was being planned. A sleeping giant had
been awakened, and this one thirsted for blood.

Just so you know (for those who don't) what is going on (OOC of
course).....the Taelon's are all connected with a kind of psionic link
called the commonality. Taelon deaths are felt, Taelon suffering is felt,
and Taelon terror is felt. Even though they are in a rebuilding phase they
are a very large force. Once the secret to Core Energy was unlocked they
went on a frenzy of rebuilding and reproducing. However Taelons *can*
reproduce quickly, with young reaching adult stage within minutes. All of
their technology is biological in basis and grown not built. Using Taelon
Core Energy ships and buildings can be grown at a fantastic rate giving
them an incredible industrial capacity that can grow to fit any need. In
short, the attack on the tiny number of Taelons in the ASVS "universe" has
awakened a massive force. On weaponry they recently (both canon and my
alternate universe) aquired the ability to upgrade their weapons pods
(small compartments carrying 4 (I think) heavy Proton Cannons which are
variable power (also known as Particle Cannons)) to be able to destroy a
world in "the blink of an eye" (yes this part comes from canon).  With the
build up new military ship designs never before seen have been arising (you
have seen that in my other post), and once the weapons pod upgrade became
availiable many ships have world destroying (probably *much* less energy
then a DS Superlaer though...) or at least Eclipse level firepower (on the
smaller ships). The weapons use raw power (they are basically just proton
beams) to achieve their effects and not tricks like NDF. In short, the
attack on the Taelons was a rather dumb idea from both forces involved.

(ET Enigma's Quarters - Psycho Prime)
ET Enigma as always was watching the events of the multiverse as it
was\is\will be occuring through his Orb of Multifunctionality (TM). He
noticed the cowardice attack by Sheppard and decided against his better
judgement to help Pablo. Not that it mattered, since he had many clones but
still it is the gesture that counted. He drank the rest of his nano-ale and
proceeded to head for the nearest InterDim teleportation booth. He could've
teleported on his own power but decided to save the juice.

(Onboard the bridge of the _Chameleon_ in the midst of the wreckage of the
_Hood_)
"Check for lifesigns lieutenant, especially for Mr. Sanchez's lifesigns."
ordered ET Enigma.

"Aye sir!" came the reply. "Searching for lifesigns now!"

It only took a brief ten seconds to locate Pablo and four hundred men that
survived the attack. The emergency life support systems worked perfectly,
cutting the time to rescue them in half. From the polymorph battlestar, a
transport ship flew through the surface of the battlestar and raced straight
for the survivors. It took the crew of the transport ship less than ten
minutes to teleport the survivors into the ship and after that the ship
returned to the battlestar. Once onboard the _Chameleon_, the survivors were
treated, each according to their injuries and were then given quarters. As
for Pablo, he was still enraged, in slight pain but nevertheless enraged. He
had little patience for the technomedics and little less for the security
men who were sent to escort Pablo to ET Enigma's office. But other than the
cursing and swearings of revenge, he didn't give the sec men much trouble.
When they reached the doors to ET Enigma's office, Pablo composed himself
and was about to press the door chime when a voice in his mind said, "Come
in, I've been waiting." The door opened and Pablo walked in. The sec
officers were also going to enter but with a brief mental order the sec
officers backed off and went back to their posts outside his office.

"Sit. Please." said ET Enigma, pointing to a chair opposite of him. Pablo
complied. A shield of dark translucent energy suddenly formed all over ET
Enigma. "I apologize for this, but I thought it was necessary since our last
encounter. Anyways, I've brought you here, to my office because I wish to
consider a truce between us. I know we haven't been exaclty freindly and
that is my fault. In our last encounter, I attacked you without provocation.
This I apologize. What I do not apologize for is the destruction of your
ships you used to destroy a planet that you thought was my homeworld. What
you tried to do was an overkill. But anyways that was beside the point. I
wish to end hostilities between us and would like to commence peace talks.
The emporer of the Pycho Empire does not wich to go to war and instead of an
enemy he wishes you to be an ally. What do you think. The ball is in your
court now."

Pablo? What do you say?

Information developed from sources FIREBREAK and HALO report enourmous
reallocations of internal resources within the Taelon-Human empire. This
appears to be largely in response to attacks made against a remote Taelon
facility earlier this week. Field operations have confirmed, grade A1,
reports that Taelon's are begining a general build up of planet-killer level
weaponry at an unprecedented scale. Attached is a construction and
deployment schedule direct from Taelon archives indicating that we can
expect, by thei own estimates, a 25% increase in their avaliable combat
firepower by weeks end. Additional information from source HALO confirms
that training units have been placed on a crash status in order to generate
enough additional clones to man neccessary positions though the exact
manning characteristics of each ship still are not within the purview of
either FIREBREAK or HALO.

NR Executive Offices, Office of the Galactic Security Advisor
Special National Intelligence Estimate

It is the opinion of New Republic Intelligence that the taelons are planning
for more than just war with their new enemies. Thier current plans represent
a huge leap in avaliable firepower that will be several orders of magnitude
more than that neccessary to overcome the majority of stationary defenses
within the New Republic. While thier fleet elemnts will still be at a huge
disadvantage regarding open conflict with ours the lack of widely avaliable
M-Wing production means that several systems are additionally vulnerable to
a massed assault of Taelon ships. It is the belief of the reviewing
personnel that the Taelon Empire plans to hold onto the majority of their
ships AFTER their current conflict has ended and such firepower represents a
clear and present danger to the health and security of the New Republic.
Given this NRI makes the following recomendations for Supreme Command
Authority:

1) Increase the allotment for M-Wing production so that all planets rated as
G3 or higher on the strategic importance scale will have at least two
squadrons avaliable.

2) This issue should be addressed at the soonest possible convenience by the
Ambassador to the Taelons. While we are cognizant that relations between the
New Republic and the Taelons are occasionally strained we must present this
issue in a non threatening manner in an attempt to better determine Taelon
intentions.

3) Intelligence operations across Taelon space should be stepped up in order
to better prepare us to detect and jam the ID drive systems in use by Telon
ships.

"We do not know as yet why, however the Taelon Embassy here in the capital
of ASVS has raised what looks to be some sort of armor barrier around
itself. Moments ago a small Taelon shuttle was seen to arrive at the
Embassy, but the nature of the arrival is unknown at this time......wait,
someone is comming out...", said the reporter.

"People of ASVS, do not be alarmed, the Taelon Embassy has implicated a new
security policy due to an attack on one of our outpost colonies. We do not
know who is responsable so we are taking additional security measures
against possible terrorist action. We do not expect trouble to reach here
but we must be ensured of our own, and of ASVS', safety. The armor you see
around our embassy can absorb tremendous energy, and retransmit it
harmlessly into deep space. It is infact, much like the armor on our larger
spacecraft. Any attack on the embassy, so long as the armor holds, should
not only fail, but should not cause damage to this city nor cause harm to
it's inhabitants. The Ambassador himself has canceled all public
appearances. There will of course, be serious delays in any Embassy
functions until further notice. We sincerely hope that these troubled times
will be over with soon. Thank you"

(Note when I say "Hyperspace", I am referring to B5 Hyperspace).

The thing about Taelon tech is that it was all based around power - The
need for power. Their shipyards stood out on advanced Hegemony sensors
from the power signatures like a supernova against a night sky. Needless
to say, the start of massive construction simply highlighted the sectors
firmly. However the old Terran saying "Look before you leap" was
relevant to this situation.

Several light-minutes above the systems plane a pair of Venture class
scouts slowly moved through the system. Cloaked and equipped with
advanced ECM systems now switched to passive mode. It was a risk. The
cloaks installed on the fighters were the best made for their size,
however they were not powerful enough for anti-psionic functions so
their entry could be noticed by an especially sensitive or alert Force
user. Further their powerful scout sized short ranged Hegemony sensors
were limited in passive mode, but near equal in ability the full active
sensors used by the other major powers. The primary shipyard complex's
were noted and mapped, as were defenses, ships and other points of
interest. After a few hours the ships had moved through the system and
behind a massive gas giant where scans had not shown any presence,
cloaked or otherwise. There they transmitted a burst signal of their
sensor's logs out of realspace into Hyperspace.

-Onboard the Defiant-H class escort Locki docked to the Bismarck class
Command ship, HMS Bismarck-...

"Sir we have received the information from the target zone. Tacmap being
updated" sung out the officer at the Tac station. The data relayed via
datalink from the Bismarck was taken by the ship's mainframe and moved
into the Tac hologram floating in front of his command chair. The
location of the shipyard was plotted to the millimeter and was
constantly updated predicting galactic and system drift, orbital
movement to ensure the most real-time 'fix'. The Bismarck’s enhanced
class 2A sensor array constantly scanned the local hyperspace region,
getting perfect fixes on the hyperspace mass shadows created by the
things in realspace right down to the smallest ship. As such, they had a
near perfect map of what lay under them without anyone being the wiser.
A small countdown started in the bottom right corner at five minutes.
Clearly Ancaris had made the decision to go. He turned to the officer at
the Comm/sensor station.
"Get us clearance and deploy the attack wing" Chris said simply. A few
seconds later with approval from the C&C center deep in the Bismarck,
the neutronium skin of the blast door ahead of the ship pulled apart.
From around him in the hanger, several more of the fast attack corvettes
launched into the red storm that was Hyperspace, curving around the awe
inspiring bulk of the command ship to take position near the bow, being
careful to keep within a klick of the forward hull. From all down the
side, more and more gunships launched until the full 128 were out and in
rmation. The corvette bays they shut and wing after wing of fighters
blasted out of the smaller hangers, taking position by wings of 36 in a
swarm around the massive ship, flirting with the titanic turrets and
outcroppings. Then the heavy starships launched from the main bays on
the dorsal side. 20 Executor-D class SSD led the heavy fleet with 100
Hegemony Ionstorm class Interdictor pickets / light cruisers and 1000
ISD-H class ships forming up with them into a marauding force. The
Ionstorms brought their interdictor systems to full strength, enough to
prevent anything but warp style travel through realspace in with
hemispheres of dampening influence up-to fifty million kilometers away,
ready to be trigged the second they moved into real space. Chris watched
the activity passively from his command chair. By the time the force was
fully deployed, the counter buzzed its 30 seconds warning.

**

The best way to think of what it happening is to think of realspace as
the air above water. Then the membrane of water is the limit of the 4D
universe. Beyond it there are layers of Hyperspace, subspace and other
such alternate dimensions. The Bismarck engaged her jump drive twenty
kilometers off the primary shipyard, destroying several ships unlucky to
be there at the time. Out of this carnage, the Bismarck herself
streaked, the massive black hull visible against the deep blue of the
jump point and moved at a relatively sedate five kilometers a second at
the massive construct. Around her, the Defiant class Escorts broke into
groups of six and moved to hit pre-assigned targets around the
shipyards, combining fire and annihilating selected targets at high
speed. Fighters either went with them, stayed with the Bismarck or
escorted the heavy cap ship group, moving to screen the ship from the
enemy cap ships in system accelerating in at the gigantic ship.
Superlaser broadsides slammed out port and starboard precisely aimed
with perfect accuracy at pre-designated targets such as C&C centers,
weapons clusters, active ships or primary station support on the
shipyard, causing numerous detonations. It was a tribute to the strength
of the structure that it resisted most of the energy, which was enough
to kill many star systems at the same time.

However the engineers who had designed the system had not ever planed on
a ship with the mass of over 2 solar systems slamming into it. Even if
most of the mass was phase shifted permanently into a deep layer of
subspace, the neutronium hull and armour was still incredibly dense. The
ship still weighed a hell of a lot, and was moving at a good pace with
the gravametric engines keeping it constant.

As such, the Bismarck won the ramming contest.

The massive black hull slammed into the shipyard...and punched through.
An amazing amount of debris sprayed free in all directions.
If it had not been in a vacuum, the noise level would have been
staggering.
As shock faded and sporadic return fire started to come back from
defense platforms, the gunship squads slashed in, targeting the enemy
weapons with precise busts of super pulse phasers and fusion torpedoes.
Many freighters around the shipyard foolishly powered up their ID drives
in range of the interdictors and attempted to leave. The effect would
best be seen as attempting to break through that 'water' membrane if it
had suddenly turned to brick and they lacked the power to punch through
and were quickly dispatched.

A large firefight erupted with the screening force.  Although
outnumbered and outgunned, the Taelon ships were for their size very
heavily armed. Several executors and over four squadrons of ImpStars
were lost in the firefight, the large fleet formations proving a
disadvantage to the smaller and faster Taelon ships who darted between
the lumbering ships as if daring the enemy to fire, miss and hit their
own.

"Helm hard over!" Chris shouted. The gunship immediately veered and
curved out of the line of fire of a small gunship sized cruiser, which
fired a particle beam at where the nimble ship HAD been. It streaked out
and claimed a trio of Star Destroyers and an Ionstorm before
dissipating. The Locki immediately laid into her with the phaser mounts,
ripping the ship apart in seconds. The rapidly dwindling enemy forces
did not so much as stop fighting or fall back. They kept fighting to the
bitter end, selling themselves for a dozen more heavy ships before the
final ship fell silent. After a very quick scan for any survivors and
the rapid beaming on board of the thousands in escape pods onto the
Executors, they formed up with the Bismarck, docking as rapidly as
possible. The last of the stragglers were just locking down their clamps
when a reinforcement fleet arrived out of ID space. They hurried to
intercept, but with another jump point, the bearer of Death had left....

CoreEn Prime. Site of the massive Core-Energy extraction facility for
the entirety of the Taelon forces in the ASVS galaxy. Hub of the great
claw that raked the bones from every world within the Taelon sphere of
influence. Protected by a large force of deadly warships. A powerful
Virtual-glass planetary shield protecting the surface.

And the target for a very special surgical strike that, unbeknownst to
all within that faction, was about to commence.

 -*-

Over 2,000 lightyears away, beyond the border of Taelon space, a huge
vessel, almost as large as a smallish gas-giant planet, floated in the
void, unseen, both because there was no-one to see it, and because of
the powerful cloaking field which surrounded it and rendered it
invisible. Within the vast 80,000 kilometer spaceframe, over four
billion sentient machines and a billion humans went about their duties.
They were particularly busy in the location of the huge main hangar in
the ventral surface of the giant hull. Here, the vast doors, each larger
than the United States of America, were slid back into their housings,
opening the hangar to space. Within the hangar, vessels that were
themsleves huge from a man's perspective, mile-long Imperator-2 Star
Drestroyers, were gliding away from their docking ports on powerful
antigravity repulsors, heading towards the drop-off over the center of
the gaping maw of the hangar. Each ship as it reached this point, cut
it's antigravity drives, immediately dropping like a stone. It would
fall out of the hangar, and as it crossed the hull line at the hangar
mouth, fall through the "bottom" of the mothership's gravity well,
though it's momentum would keep it moving downwards relative to the
mothership. It was also as it crossed the hangar mouth that it would
pass the boundary of the cloaking field and become vsible. To an outside
observer, this area of space would have seemed to contain a strange
phenomena: large warships pouring vertically out of nothing.

After "falling" several miles from the belly of the greater vessel, each
ISD-II's rear would flare brightly as the three giant ion engines, and
four smaller auxilliries, fired a stream of ions to aft the ship, and it
accellerated forward, it's velocity quickly rising to a significant
fraction of C. As it sped forward, it would pass under another hangar
similar to the one from which it came, out of which was pouring
quantities of a much smaller type of war vessel, a Defiant-class
Starship, a bulldogish vessel about 170 meters long. These vessels,
equipped with warp drives but no hypedrive, paired off into groups of
12, each group moving towards a star destroyer. As a group approached an
ISD, it [the ISD] would slow to allow the Defiants to line themselves up
correctly... and then they would clamp themselves securely to the
ISD-II's hull, three Defiants to each of the Star Destroyer's four
distinct main surfaces. Thus, they were ready to "piggyback" through
hyperspace on the ISD-II's.

After less than ten minutes, the full attack force of 600 ISD-IIs and
7,200 Defiants were in clear space, away from their mothership, secured
and ready to enter hyperspace. The order was given, and the
ready-lined-up fleet shot forward into hyperspace.

 -*-

Several hours later, in the Taelon Center system, automated alarms
suddenly went off all over the system as a surge in chronometric and
neutronic particles was detected. Even as relaxed, bored, crewmen sprang
to attention, focusing on their equipment and searching their scopes,
the first mile-long Star Destroyers blasted out of hyperspace. Within
seven-point-two-five seconds, the entire fleet was in. Immediately the
Defiants seperated from the Star Destroyers, splitting off into groups
of three that went after individual targets. The main force of Star
Destroyers advanced directly towards CoreEN Prime, and as they did so
met a large force of Taelon Capships coming out to meet them. As fire
started coming in, the Star destroyers began to fire back, and were soon
bogged down in a heavy firefight with the Taelon cruisers. As more
Taelon ship, over 700 of them, came in, the Star Destroyers began to be
sorely pressed, and several of them began falling. The only consolation
was that dozens of Taelon cruisers were also falling, but given the
numerical advantage, things were looking unfortunate for the Star
Destroyers. It was then that T49648, the T-800 commanding the fleet,
ordered the fighters launched. From every ISD-II, 50 TIE-Advanced
launched, each equipped with four heavy anti-capship missiles. Almost
thirty-thousand fighters screamed out and in among the Taelon capital
ships. The Terminators in the fighters began discharging missiles at
will, and almost immedietaly the effect became evident. Greater numbers
of Taelon vessels now began to be struck down, and, fired up by this,
the Star Destroyers surged forward, firing broadsides right and left,
striking dead many Taelon ships. Slowly, and bitterly, the Taelon force
was worn down, until eventually the few remaining ships turned and fled
into ID space. When all was done, there remained 377 of the original 600
Star destroyers, and of those which survived, only 194 had no damage at
all.

While the Star Destroyers had been fighting the defense fleet, the
Defiants had been flying throughout the system, knocking out defense
platforms, minor repair docks, communication stations, and so on. Of the
original 7,200 of these ships, there now was around 5,100 left, of which
only 2,400 were unscathed. They moved in and rejoined the Star Destroyer
force. On approach to the planet, massive orbital bombardment was begun,
with huge turbolaser frontal "broadsides", and barrages of
pulse-phaser-cannon fire, raking down at the surface... but.. none of it
touched the surface. The virtual glass shield was too strong, and what
was more, significant return fire began coming up from the planet. A few
ships which were especially badly weakened after the recent battle, were
destroyed. T49648 ordered a retreat from the planet, as he did so,
running numerous tactical strategies and methods of attack through his
advanced Cyberdyne-Systems brain. Eventually, he ordered one star
destroyer to head far out of orbit of the planet. This it did, and then
turned around to face the planet again. On orders from T49648, the crew
of that vessel, which happened to consist entirely of Terminators, and
therefore knew no fear, set a new hyperspace course. Straight ahead.

Engaging hyperdrive, the ship shot forward and vanished... but a few
nanoseconds later, it appered again, as CoreEn Prime's gravity well
yanked it out of hyperspace just 1,500 miles off the planet's surface.

The Star Destroyer, just out of hyperspace, slammed down through the
atmosphere and into the virtual glass shield at over 75% of the speed of
light. The impact carried hundreds of thousands of times more energy
than the asteroid impact that had wiped out Earth's dinosars eons ago,
and all over the planet, shield generators fizzeled, sparked, and burnt
out. The virtual glass shield had stopped to massive energies of the
impact... but at the expense of it's own continued existance.

Immediately, the fleet in space moved forward towards the planet again.
Defensive fire lanced up, taking out a few ships, but it was quickly
silenced, as the orbital bombardment began to lay waste to the now
unshielded surface. Thousands of structures and buildings were consumed
in fiery immolations, and the thousands of TIE craft streaked down on
the planet, roaring through the atmosphere at hypersonic velocities,
before coming down low to strafe ground targets. Moving around the
planet, the fleet came in sight of the massive complex that was the
central Core-Energy extraction facility for the entire Taelon influence
in the ASVS galaxy. T49648 ordered a ceasefire, until the fleet was
evenly spread above tht part of the planet. All ships locked their
weapons on that structure.

"Fire"

Over 12,000 turbolaser bolts and 8,000 pulse-phaser-cannon blasts
punched down from orbit, slamming into and through the facility,
exploding, burning, vaporising and destroying vast quantities of metal,
levels, floors, bulkheads, corridors, rooms, shafts, machinery,
equipment, men, computers...

The bombardment kept up for a full five minutes. After it was over, no
trace remained of the facility, the area where it had been was a massive
crater gouged deep into the mantle, and from it huge quantities of
boiling magma rose up, surging over the surrounding landscape.

In space, the fleet came together. Due to the disproportionate numbers
of ships destroyed, some ISD-IIs had to take more than the preferable
maximum of 12 Defiants, but it didn't really matter that much. Thousands
upon thouands of TIE-Advanced hurtled back to their mother ships. When
all was secure, the fleet aimed for the far borders of Taelon space,
and, with a flicker of pseudomotion, vanished, bound for places afar.

MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Admiral Subotai looked over at his sensor officer.  "Did we tag them?"

The officer waited for a second before responding.  "Yes sir.  We'll have to
wait for them to arrive, but since they use fold drive, it shouldn't take
very much time at all."

"Good.  Is our little friend ready?" the admiral asked.

A weapons officer almost grinned, but recovered his professionality in time.
"She is ready to roll, and if necessary, rock."

"Excellent."  The slightly insane admiral waited for a few minutes longer.

The communications officer gave Subotai a thumbs up.  The tag had responded
over hyperspace radio, and they now had the exact position of the Phallus.
Subotai grinned.

"Send the little girl on ahead of us."

---------

The crew of the RGV Phallus, though mostly Terminators, quickly understood
the significance of the hyperspace radio transmission.  As the device
continued to transmit, they searched for it.  No robot could be frantic, but
the Terminators were able to approximate it.  They finally found it, a tiny
probe that had attached to the hull when the hangars had been open.  They
quickly blasted the meter-long cube to bits, and prepared to leave the
system. You couldn't be too careful.

It was too late to be careful, however.  They had launched an unprovoked
attack against a former ally.  Although the SRDC was not officially at war
with Deimos' allies, they also did not appreciate cowardice.

As the Phallus warmed up her engines to escape, a spacecraft a mere 2800
meters long arrived at a distance of less than a hundred kilometers from the
Phallus.  In the milleseconds it had before it would open fire, the ship's
computer performed a threat asessment.  The next few milleseconds were spent
with computerized cursing.  It was ghaslty bad luck.

The modified Neutron-S missile changed itself into a large, insufferably
bright white light.  The light expanded to encompass the port side of the
Phallus.  When the light finally faded, the computer of the Phallus
registered three things: one, the port shields were down, and could not be
raised; two, every extrusion in the hull that was outside the thick armor
was comepletely gone; and three, both port superlasers were gone as well.
This was not good, escape had to take place immediately.

Three thousand kilometers to port, a fleet of warships arrived.  Among them,
at least one interdictor was generating a field that the Phallus was unable
to break.  The ship raged impotently, for it was without the capability to
attack anything on that side of her hull.  She began to roll to bring other
weapons to bear, and decided to launch fighters.

The hangar doors, each the size of the USA, began to open.  Ships emerged
even before the thing was completely open.  The ship had made a huge
tactical blunder although it didn't know it yet.  A very long distance away
from the Hanger doors, one of the SRDCs 100 km base ships appeared from
foldspace.  A yellow beam was generated at the end of it, and the Phallus's
computer once again said some uncomplimentary things.

The Grand Cannon blast simply brushed the shields aside like tissue paper,
and roared into the hanger space of the Phallus.  It vaporized the ships
that had remained within, and secondary explosions took up immediately.  The
interior of the Phallus was racked with firing explosions, her engines were
fried and her roll began to spin out of control.  Power to her weapons grid
was fluctuating badly.

The few hundreds of ISD-IIs and defiants that had escaped attempted to
attack the agressor SRDC fleet.  Most were picked off at long range by a
pair of Hood Class Battleships, but about 50 made it in to attack the
Belisarius escorts.  The ISD-IIs were horribly outclassed by their modified
cousins, and the defiants were not much more than moving targets.  All the
same, they inflicted a few dozen casualties before succumbing.  No fighters
were launched by either side, because the Terminator's had wisely recalled
the futility of flying fighters against the Phalanx-15 system.

Meanwhile, the Phallus silently twisted in space.  The base ship
repositioned and fired her main gun again, and again, and again.  The
operation would take hours, but there was no one that would arrive to help
the Phallus, all communications had been jammed since the start of the
battle.

By 'noon' (Phallus shipboard time) the mighty battle implement was stripped
of all weapons.  The ship was dead, but it attempted to fight on.  The SRDC
fleet dropped back to a safe distance.  Another Neutron S missile had
arrived.  It maneuvered slowly and carefully into where the hangars had once
been mounted on the Phallus.  There was ample room for a single 2800 meter
long object.

The Strategic Missile detonated /inside/ the Phallus.  The internal
partitions of the Phallus, though capable of stopping most secondary
explosions, were simply not up to the current task.  The warhead of the
Neutron-S, intended not merely to destroy a planet, but to seperate it into
its component quarks, carved the inside of the Phallus like a turkey.

Subotai smiled at the destruction.  The premier warship of the Romulan
psychopaths was now nothing more than a shell of her prized armor.  The
thousand kilometer thick armor was effectively indestructable, but the
inside of the Phallus was as soft as any other ship.  Rather like a turtle
in that respect.

Slowly, the impossibly great mass of the Romulan Warship collapsed on
itself.  Bereft of the artificial gravity it had had during its life, it was
now governed by the realm of physics.  And physics said that it was time for
gravity to take over.  The shell of the ship slowly fell into a gravity
well, at the center of which was a point of infinite density.

The SRDC fleet observed the new black whole from a safe distance.

The comm officer waved at Subotai.  "Sir, the Taelons are on the comm."

Subotai searched back to remember what Sanchez had told him to say.  "Tell
them to fuck off, and inform them that the only thing that prevents us from
smashing them is our fatigue.  Helm, take us back to Hephestus."

Sanchez read off the report from Subotai, nodded, and fed it into the
shredder.  Deimos would no doubt be pissed, but even he had enough sense not
to attack Hephestus.  The systems was protected by a huge fleet, and no less
than one hundred space stations that mounted Grand Cannons.  That would put
some hurt on any ship, even the remaining Phallus class warship.

The Romulan's libido was so far out of control that he was practically
crying out to be attacked.

Sanchez picked up a communique that was labeled "URGENT" and dated for four
days ago.  He shrugged and read it.  The technomancer Engima was interested
in an alliance.  /Elder/ Technomancer, he corrected himself.  Interesting.
An alliance with a being of that power would be a very good move, especially
since the Hegemony, an ally of Deimos, would probably be somewhat angry at
him at that point.  The communique gave him instruction for contacting
Enigma.  He followed them, opening up a hololink.

The Elder Technomancer appeared.  "Have you considered our offer?"

Sanchez leaned back in his comfortable leather chair and put his feet on his
large desk.  "Yah, for about 30 seconds.  It seems like a good idea.  You
probably already know what we'll be bringing to the table.  What will you be
giving us?"

Meanwhile......somehwere else...

"Ladies and gentlemen! The L20kA now has enough members to officially declare
itself a sovereign authority in all intoxicated territory!" Said Space
Marshal Marcus Spyda in his address to the public.
"Hey," one of the drunken onlookers called out, "We've got more than 20,000
members now! Why are we still the L20kA?"
"This brings me to my next point" said the Space Marshal, "our official name
is infact the Alcoholic Republic of Sigma El-Draconis(our home planet), or
ARSE for short."

At long last the time had come, the time for the ARSE to reveal it's hidden
agenda. Why did the former L20kA agree to build the rec cubes on the Bismark
in exchange for shipping rights for hazardous materials? At long last the
arcane designs of the ARSE are finally revealed. The hazardous materials, of
which ARSE had been shipping for the past year had the power to decimate star
systems. And what is this stuff used for you ask? To make the most precious
of substances in the known universe, Z'yn'fleh'n Vodka! On shot of
Z'yn'fleh'n Vodka could induce a state of drunkeness the likes of which the
universe has never seen, any being brave enough to try and take the shot
could theoretically produce bile strong enough to obliterate anything it
touches, which the given exception of the drunkard's internal organs. The
power of the Z'yn'fleh'n Vodka was far beyond the comprehension of any mortal
man, civilisations could be wiped out if this fell into the wrong hands. He
who controls the Vodka, controls the Universe...

Spyda reached for the shot glass, the hundreds of Arsadians gathered around
to see if he'd really drink it.
"Mua'dib, Mua'dib, Mua'dib, Mua'dib." They chanted.
"Guys!"
"Oh, sorry.... Down the hatch, down the hatch, down the hatch..." they
collectively chanted.

Finally Spyda lifts the glass to his mouth, and quickly downs the Z'yn'fleh'n
Vodka.
"Whoa shit!" He immediately collapsed. "I can see everything," Spyda began
ranting in a drunken stupor, "I can see the past..."
"It's called a flashback stupid!" One of the onlookers called out.
"I mean I see stuff that I haven't seen before you dumb fuck! Anyhoo... I see
the past, I see the present, I see the future! I s' ee eshvery thing i' the
unilevecse... and that's whennnnn I shed 'Yo Mamma!' Ha ha ha ha, whoa...my
hand is sooo huge, all my hands are belong to me! Hey good lookin'..."

Later...

The ARSE fleet was ready to attack the invincable Taelon shield that
redirects everything into space so Transcend will feel good about himself...
"Sir! They appear to be launching drunk aliens at us from orbit!"
"The shields will hold." Came the reply.

One by one the ARSE troopers came crashing down onto the shield, and
redirected back up... only to end up falling down again. The repeated
bouncing motion was very uncettling to the ARSE troopers stomaches,
especially since they were all liquered up on Z'yn'fleh'n Vodka shots.
BLAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!!! One by one they each spewed the contents of their
livers onto the supposedly impentrable shields.

"Sir! It's eating through the sields!"
"Shit."

And then the Taelons died... from inhaling the noxious fumes and getting
alcohol poisoning. Which really just goes to show how strong that vodka is,
the Taelons don't even have livers!

The ARSE had carried the day!

In related news, the Confederation has ordered large quantities of
Z'yn'fleh'n Vodka from the ARSE. Rumors speculate that with many citizens
centuries old, a new alcoholic beverage is needed as conventional
alcohols have little effect.

_The Womb_ was gone, consumed by a paradox, something so large could not have
been created in such short time, the forces of the universe were forever working
to dissuade the forces of chaos from such blatant violations of physical law.
Grumbling, I had formed the vessel out of my imagination, crafted form, through
interdemtional summons and conjuration, the concept remained, and with time and
resources I could build it in reality.  Still, strangely the three planets sent
as gifts to The Hegemony, the ARSE, and Ancaris Imperium were still there.  The
academy.  I sat back at the bridge of the small recently Purchased Kushan
carrier.  The purchase had cost me a lot of resources, however I now had a
dependable harvesting and construction platform to work from.

Scout ships returned from the fringes of Patrolled space, there was great
resources to be found within a region, however reports had filtered back that
the area was patrolled by trolls, pirates, and even hostile peacekeeping forces.
opening a  gateway to hyperspace the carrier, and her Klingon Escourts moved
away from realspace and into the void between spaces.

Hours later:
Emerging into the realspace through Kushan Gate drives, my carrier, launched
her scout ships, and a mix of Alyolytes and Blades.  A force of 20 Plasma
Bomber's was under construction, to provide a means to break the big rocks down
into chunks that the Workers could handle.  IT was then that the scout reported
two signatures.  Tealon I.D. drives and something else.  Knowing the recent
setbacks that had befallen the Tealon forces in the ASVS sphear it was logical
for them to be out here havesting (However, Tealon's looked for BIOMATTER, and
Energy, not metal, and ores.  what could be the source of bioenergy that they
were looking for?

It was then that I lost contact with my second wing of scouts, investigating
the second energy source.  A fragmented transmission from the scout leader
stated.  "I will not submit...", and then all contact was lost..  Deceiding that
what ever this was It definately was NOT my friend I launched several cloaked
Probes in the the vacinity.  A large vessel, (Mothership class) appeared before
me, It and the Taelon's were on direct vecotrs for eachother.  The vessel seemed
to be composed to some sort of biowaste, a grotesque parody, of a federation
design.  The largest Taelon vessel approched the ship, and was struck by a Bozon
infection beam, soon the ship and it's escourts were being currupted by the
infection beam, A voice called out over all of our comm systems.
"I live again!"
The Kushans began panicing, making for Hyperspace, I had to find my allies, and
I had to find them fast.  The great beast who should not be mentioned had
returned.

The war had raged for weeks, consuming scores of planets and stars. Millions
of ships had been destroyed in the most vicious civil war yet seen. At last
however, the Collective had the upper hand.

[Tau Ceti high orbit]

The last of the Phoenix class cruisers, IBS Mercury, named for the messenger
of the gods, was under frantic repair. The fastest ship in the fleet, she
had left her escorts behind long ago. All transmission had been cut off
abruptly several hours ago. The revolution was at an end. A single victory
had handed the Collective the keys to the Boyd. Jonathan's dreams of a Boyd
Empire would be no more. The single victory had given the Collective an
advantage in ships and supplies - which lead to more victories. And a bigger
advantage. A snowball effect that the final Imperial counterattack didn¹t
have the momentum to stop.

"Mercury to Ta Ceti, how long until those spare parts are ready?"

The Mercury's fold drive had finally burned out after weeks of intensive
use. The UTSC (United Terran Space Corps) colony was the nearest planet with
the parts required to repair it. The UTSC was small enough to not even be
listed among the minor governments of the galaxy. Originally from Earth,
they had left long ago to establish a colony on New Terra. Eventually they
had broken contact with their home planet and founded a civilisation of
their own, their efforts culminating in the establishment of their own
colonies, the first of which had been on Tau Ceti. The Collective had had
some minor trade with them, but no substantive contact. There was no reason
to believe that they would investigate the system, especially not in the
middle of a civil war.

Jonathan felt it before the sensors registered anything. It was as if a wall
had suddenly been erected between his mind and the rest of reality. A single
hole appeared in the wall. Blacker than ebony, it offered not an end to this
sudden confinement, but not an escape.

The Collective fleet disengaged its fold drives at seemingly every point in
the sky simultaneously. The number of vessels couldn't be described in the
mere thousands. Everything from corvettes up tot he mighty Olympus class
were present. Their shields interlinked and weapons powered, they had
created a shell of pure energy from which the Mercury could not escape.

As the crew of the battlecruiser watched in dread, knowing their war was
over, a final squadron arrived. 10 Olympus class vessels appeared, towing an
object that seemed to drain the light from the stars. At once, thousands of
tractor beams gripped the Mercury and forced her forwards, into the yawning
maw that seemed to grow in Jonathan's mind. Soon the wall that confined him
was no longer visible.

As the final bastion of the Boyd Empire vanished from our side of reality, a
pair of missiles streaked away from a guided missile battleship. Slamming
into the fighter bays and engine compartments of the ship, they sealed its
fate for all eternity.

The Collective was pure once again. No dissent. No rebellion. We are Boyd.

Defence was the first priority. Though hundreds of thousands of vessels
remained, then navy was a shadow of its former self. Enough ships could be
mustered to defend against border incursions, but that was it. The Olympus
class battleships and Collective class carriers would hopefully deter anyone
who suspected weakness from launching a war. Entirely self contained, they
could still ravage the star systems of any empire. The bulk of the fleet
would have to be rebuilt, however. Thankfull, despite losing scores of
planets, the Collective's industry was relatively intact. The main shipyards
were still churning out several ships a minute from their solar
system-encicrcling yards. They were only frigates and destroyers, but they
would suffice for defence at the moment. Once new designs were finalised,
work on capital ships could begin. The necessary modules were already being
constructed - the engineers just needed to be told which way to put them
together.

The army and marine corps needed replenishing too. Many lessons had been
learnt during the hundreds of land campaigns fought and they would be taken
into account in the rebuilding.

Diplomacy was another urgent matter. The Collective and Empire had
effectively been cut off from all other governments during the hostilities.
Perhaps it was time to re-enter the world of politics.

(In short, the Collective has regained complete control of itself and is
hurriedly rebuilding. It still has enough strategic weapons to hurt plenty
of planets, so it can hurt you bad, even if it can't stop itself from being
hurt very well. I want to reduce the number of ship classes in service
because it's too confusing having the 40 odd I had for the Collective and 20
odd for the Empire. This should make TGODing easier if I ever got round to
joining in one again.)

"Is the Black Pudding ready?" inquired Lord Graeme?

"Yes my liege." said the technician who was gingerly carrying a small

"Good, then place it on the pudding hucker spoon"

Lord Graeme then took the glass spoon and used it to fling the deadly

With a wave of his hand Elder Technomancer Enigma summoned his orb. A portal opened up in front of him and the Orb of
Multifunctionality (TM) floated through it and came to a stop within a foot of ET Enigma. He had recently upgraded the Orb to accept
voice commands and was looking for a way to utilize it. That chance was now.

"Oom (Orb of Multifunctionality), commencing recording."

"Recording."

"Dear friends, it has been a long time since we last met. I have observed that order has now been restored in the Collective. Am I
right? Anyways, we of the Psycho Empire would like to re-establish trade and whatnot, in order to strengthen our alliance and the
alliance of the Mars Pact. We'd like to re-open the embassies so as to return to normal. Good day! Elder Technomancer Enigma out."

"Oom end recording."

"Recording has ended."

"Save, encrypt with the standard terabit encryption code and send it to the leader of theBoyd Collective."

"Affirmative. Message saved, encrypted and sent."

"Good. Now return!"

With another wave of his hand the portal reopened and the Orb return to the ether dimension. Now comes the wait.

Transcend pulled out the small piece of crystalized Core Energy he was
hiding and absorbed it. The Core Energy surged through him healing him
completely and expelling the disgusting creature. Then using his Skrill he
made himself a new "door" (via blasting a fucking wall) and made his escape.

[Earth]

In the newly-realized Chambers of Solitude, Kynes sat in conference with his
allies. Sitting amongst the sands, waves splashing near him, Kynes spoke to the images
of his two closest allies: Lord Graeme of Dice, and Star Marshall Kyle Knopf.
    "The Mars Alliance?" asked Kynes.
"Yep," said Kyle. Kyle's face was displayed as refracted light in the mist between
two columns of water erupting constantly from the sea. It was, for all intents and
purposes, a natural viewscreen, proving once again that the Planet had learned the
tricks of technology long before the humans it had spawned.
"We must be cautious," said Dice, projected between a separate set of columns.
"The Mars Alliance has proved to be a formidable foe. I doubt they have the strength
to engage us directly, but they could menace our efforts in other systems
significantly."
"They could," said Kynes. "The Terrae acolytes are still developing. A single
Boyd Knight or Master could likely prove quite a challenge to their physical form,
at least."
"Assuming they could find them," remarked Dice with more than a hint of pride.
His worldships had located the most remote and promising worlds in the entire
universe. Dwarven laborers had constructed the Temples so that Kynes might communicate
with his brethren. And Dice had done this without a thought of reward, knowing that
Kynes himself could not leave Planet for these tasks.
"Well, acolytes or no acolytes, I seriously doubt their starfleet will be a menace
to the Sixth Fleet any time soon." Knopf. He was right about that. The space assault
arm of the Triumvirate was unmatched in sheer power, although continuing problems
in Knopf's home galaxy prevented the bulk of that power from (usually) being brought
to bear.
    "What of Transcend?" asked Dice.
"Indeed. What of Transcend?" mused Knopf.
Kynes sighed. Transcend. One of his acolytes had solved the early problem but it
seemed the old wills die hard...
"We'll take care of him, too."

/I offer him an alliance and he mocks ME!?! Must calm down, my emperor wishes to make allies, and making allies I must do. What I'd
give right now for a pico-ale. Oh yeah, I forgot! I can conjure one up. Silly me./ With a wave of his hand, a mug of premium frothy
pico-ale formed on his desk. He took one sip and looked at the holoimage.

"Refresh my memory as to what you'll be bringing to the table." asked ET Enigma as he leaned forward.

"I thought you fella's were supposed to be all-knowing.  Anyway, here it
goes:  Firstly, and one you'll no doubt like, the Slaver Stasis Field.  We
acquired it from an alternate dimension, from a race called the Outsiders.
The Stasis field is like any other stasis device, except for one respect.
It renders the interior of the field completely and totally invulnerable to
anything.  A supernova, a black hole.  As long as that field stays up, the
contents are invulnerable.

"Of course, the stasis field zeroes the passage of time.  But it is a good
thing to have, for obvious reasons.  Then, there's that annoying little
thing I used on you a while ago.  You might remember it?"

Enigma sneered.  "Yes, and I neutralized it."

"Not for long.  All I have to do is change the frequency by a minute amount,
and it's back in business.  On the other hand, an allegience with us would
allow you partial ownership of the technology.  You would be able to have
it, and work a solution that would truly block it.  I, of course, would need
this 'shield' for my own purposes.

"As well as that, we can also promise diplomatic help.  A force such as
yourself will draw quite a bit of attention.  We'll do what we can to
prevent the Sixth Imperium from taking offense.  And believe me, you really
don't want them knocking at the door, no matter who you are."

He leaned back and memorized what Pablo said. /Interesting technology. The Psycho Empire can do without it, but any useful that can
be gained would be appreciated. Might as well tell him of what we can offer. I don't like this but orders are orders./

"Impressive Mr. Sanchez. And useful. Good, now for my part. We can offer you resources from our universe in the InterDimension. Of
course, any ships that enters our universe must be scanned thoroughly as to not upset my people. In case of trouble, we can offer
you assistance. We currently have millions of battlestars of various classes and billions of lesser ones. We can lend\sell\lease any
warships of any class up to Sol class battlestarand up to a total of 5% of total numbers of ships from said classes and give you a
lifetime warranty as proof to their excellent quality. We can licence you the methods of producing your own battlestars, that is up
to Sol class. We can also provide you with the ship based weaponry to outfit your fleet. There are many more and the technical issues
can be brought out in detail after your agreement to ally with us. We as in the Psycho Empire are not trying to trick you nor are we
trying to lure you into a false sense of security. We wish to ally with you. But understand this: this treaty will be considered
null and void temporarily at least, should you declare war on the Boyd Collective or with Lord Rog. Do I make myself clear? Remember
this also, Though my emporer wants to ally with you, *I* on the other hands would rather stay clear of you. I find you insulting,
ignorant and inconsiderate. I don't like pretending to like you but for some reason the emporer wants another ally. So what is your
decision?"

Pablo's eyes widened, and he took his feet off the desk.  "Well, I can see
this will be mutually beneficial.  Uh, we obviously accept your very
generous offer.  And, if you don't mind my saying, I would advise you to
keep that information to yourself.  The Sixth Imperium is not very nice to
people who do that sort of thing..."

He thought for a moment. It was only a brief pause before he spoke.

"Good. For safety sake, our alliance will be seperate from that of the Mars Pact. I don't think that the Triumverate will like
it that you are allied with a member of the Mars Pact, but they should leave you alone. As for the Sixth Imperium, well I don't care
about them. They are part of the Triumverate and as such are enemies of the Mars Pact. Again since you are not a member of the Mars
Pact just an ally wih the Psycho Empire the Triumverate might frown on it but should leave you well alone.

We will proceed to send you a techno-embassador, four techno-diplomats and a small team of technicians and engineers. They will
be on a diplotmat ship named _The Open Hand_ and here is there confirmation code for when they arrive." <confirmation code sent>
"Also the team of technicians and engineers have the specifications of relevant technology needed to gain access to any battlestar
up to Sol class.

As for the stasis device that you've planted in me, I've got a backup plan incase of such a situation. I've got a team of
technomedics that has created an identical copy of myself, plus a few enhancements. A clone if you will. The moment I lose contact
with my nano, femto and pico droids my body will cease to exist and my essence will go into the clone. But since we're now allies, I
should not need to worry about it.

Anyways, I thank you for accepting this alliance and it will be kept secret if you wish until the time you choose to reveal our
alliance. It will be most profitable for the both of us. Anything you'd care to say before signing off?"

The reports kept comming in, Transcend absorbed them from the trance-like
state he was in as his CVI worked overtime enhancing his mental functions.
The slightest hint of an energy trace here, an agent's report from there,
and millions of other pieces of data came together with the information
from the attacks on their forces. Hours went by, as more and more reports
came in, slight subtle things, but fitting into the whole. Finally he had
what he needed, he knew where this "invincible" ship would be, and he had a
plan....

O'Farrell was sitting in his captain's chair, feeling all cool and
confident at the raw power he controlled. "With this ship", he thought, "I
will rule the entire universe." He reveled in his victories against the
Taelons, they had firepower, but nothing to match this glorious ship.
Suddenly one of the techs came over to him, "Sir, we have a sensor contact.
It appears to be a probe of come kind, Taelon energy signiture." This was
certainly odd, the Taelons did not have much of a fleet left to attack him
with, why would they scout him out. Suddenly there was a strange light, and
a hologram appeared having been beamed through ID Space via the probe.
Transcend's hologram looked almost real, and he said what sounded like
music to O'Farrell's ears. Transcend was talking about total surrender.

"The AI should be able to fool him into thinking he's talking to you for a
few more minutes sir, we don't have longer then that," the young Volunteer
said. Transcend smiled and said, "Don't worry, it's all the time I
need....just get me a sensor lock." The ID Portal was nearly ready, the
systems would probably blow out pulling this stunt, but they could spare
one ID Portal. Transcend and a squad of elite Biosurrogates moved inside
the portal. Once the sensor lock was fairly well established the portal
flared and the group was gone.

A surging bright light, a surge of ID energy, and the Taelon commandos were
only a few clicks from the main power core of the powerful ship that had
been the cause of all this trouble. The team released the nanobots, which
were programed to interface with the onboard sensors, soon there would be
nothing to alert O'Farrell.

"Sir", a tech spoke up, "I've picked up...." "O'Farrell turned and looked
at the tech quickly and said, "Shut up! I am on the comm and it's very
important." He turned back to the holographic Transcend and said, "Now
let's see, oh yes we were discussing the yearly Core Energy tribute..."

The commandos moved quickly, but not quickly enough. A group of guards
noticed them, and yelled out before they could respond. The Biosurrogates
fired their energy rifles and Transcend followed suit with his Skrill. Soon
the incompetent guards were no more, the fools hadn't even tried to call an
alert over the comms. Transcend looked down at his Global, checking their
location against the power spike of the main reactor. "This way," he said,
motioning off to the left.

O'Farrell was completely overjoyed, he would have every piece of tech the
Taelons had, he would rule a massive Empire, and he would crush all under
his boot. He was practically glowing....

The security lock was proving hard to bypass, even with the nanobots
interfacing with the system. "Fuck it, nothing he can do now anyway," said
Transcend. With that he pulled up his left arm and fired a Skrill blast
powerful enough to vaporise the damn door.  The engineering crew was in a
panic as  the Biosurrogates slughtered them. Transcend moved closer. Here
it was, the main reactor's primary regulator. Lowing his pack to the ground
he got out his little present, a high yield photon bomb. Compared to the
energies of this reactor it was nothing but the explosive force, enough to
blow up a small mountain, would be enough to start a cascade reaction that
would overload the reactor and blow the ship to hell. He smiled a grim
smile as he set the device down and set it for detonation 10 seconds after
the portable ID Portal would activate. He reached into his pack and set
down the distortion vortex generator, this handy little toy would make sure
nobody could come near it during that 10 seconds. Anyone within it's field
would become utterly confused, their surroundings would become distorted,
it would be impossible to find anything let alone the bomb.

O'Farrel stood, before the holographic Transcend. Suddenly Transcend smiled
and said, "We do have *one* condition to our surrender..." O'Farrell
frowned, it was supposed to be unconditional surrender. Transcend's
hologram laughed and said, "Put your head between your legs and kiss your
ass goodbye." Then all hell broke loose.

Transcend ran for the portal, along with his troops. Another flash of
light, a surge of power, and they would gone. The portal itself exploded
first, a very small explosion, just enough to destroy it. The bomb ticked
down, and as it reached zero it was as if hell itself had been unleased....

O'Farrell ran for the command escape pod, and reached it just in time. He
watched through it's tiny window as the ship he loved, the greatest
battleship in the universe, exploded into tiny pieces to small to rebuild.
In one stroke most of his offensive power was destroyed, but he was alive.
One of the escort vessels came in and tractored his escape pod. "Now what?"
he thought.

"Would someone TELL ME WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON??" Ancaris shouted as he
stormed onto the Bismarks bridge. He had been having much fun shooting Ewoks
in a rec room when the intruder alerts went off. By the time he got to the
Bridge, the alarms had cut off and he was no closer to finding out what had
happened. His XO watched the Admiral storm onto the command deck and knew he
had to talk fast or the Admiral MIGHT get a little unhappy.

"Sir about two minuites ago, a platoon of Taelon commandos ID drived in
while the system shutdown for maintence on the power drive was taking place.
They arrived in Rec Cube sixteen which was running a full scale simulation
of the Bismark and an intruder defence scenaro. Unfortunantly a group of
troops and engine room cadets were caught by the Taelons and killed thinking
them only computer driven enemies and not treating them like intruders. They
they proceaded to invade the engine room of a simulated auxlilery fussion
power plant and sabotage it, destroying it. They left before detonation,
thinking it was going to destroy the ship before we could shut down the
program and get troops down there. The explosion from their device has all
but destroyed the rec cube and caused extensive damage to imediate decks
around it. Two hundred men are presumed dead. Imediatly after they left, we
engaged full shield and interdictor functions throughout the fleet as per
proceadures. However Chris who was on the Bridge recovering from that
coolent leak earlier, was contacted by a hologram of transcand stalling for
the real one, who was part of the strike force according to internal
sensors. He panicked when the hologram gloated and ejected in an escape pod.
He is now being picked up by the _Lighting_."

Ancaris simply stood there unmoving. What was going on in his mind was known
to no-one. And when he spoke, it was deathly quite.
"He attacked us? He DARED to attack US?"
"Yes sir."
"Could you track him"
"Negative. The External sensors were down for maintence along with the
shields and interdictors"
"Damm it. Well we will NOT stand for this. But revenge will come another
day. Signal the fleet to jump back to our space. We will consider our
response carefuly. And get Chris in here."
"Yes sir". THe officer walked over to the console on the wall and entered a
few commands. Within a few seconds, Chris Materalised looking quite
disoriented.
"Chris we need to-"
"Wait a second" Chris said taking a rather unsteady step forward. "This is
the Bismark right?"
"Yes"
"And your Ancaris yes?"
"Yes Chris"
"But your dead!!"
"No your out it from the Coolent. Just stay calm and-" Ancaris was
interupted by Chris running around making various flaping gestures and
shouting about how everyone was dead thus he didn't have to listen. With an
sign, he singaled the Transporter control officer to beam him to the nearest
hospital, then walked back to his chair. He seriously considered wiping out
a Taelon system or two, but restrained himself.
There were more importaint things to do.

The ships found it, a 23 mile wide rogue asteroid outside the galactic
plane, plenty of carbon and other useful minerals. "Construction" began
immediately. The Command Center was stared first, a large building that
would contain the communications arrays and the diplomatic shuttle bay, as
well as the primary command deck. Nearby the colony structure was growing,
a big open space for habitation, gardens, and entertainment facilities. A
series of defense platforms was planned, 18 along the equator, and one on
each pole. Each platform had enough weapons power to obliterate a planet,
although they were not to be used in such a manner. Each platform also
helped generate the multilayer virtual glass as well as the energy
shielding system that would cover the entire planetoid. The Medical Center
was to be grown next, a full scale hospital with the lastest Taelon and
Human medical tech. The training compound, primary shuttle bays, shipyards,
and ID Drive units were planned for last. The facility would be larger then
the previous, and far well better defended. It would be days before
everything was ready, and a few more until it was fully staffed. Once the
ID Drives engaged it would spend almost all of it's time in ID Space for
security reasons. Discussion was held about the possibilities of a
secondary shipyard being constructed, one which would be nothing more then
a small outpost, barely even noticable. But that would come at a later day.

Orders came in, over 5,000 of the smallest cruisers came through the
"current" to form a new defensive core. Each had weapons far more powerful
then Turbolasers, but far fewer in number. What they lacked in firepower
they made up for in manuverability, speed, and stealth. A rebuilding was
occuring, a rebirth. But so was a serious need for caution, stealth, and
careful monitoring. All science vessels were recalled for security reasons,
it was unacceptable for undefended Taelons to roam around in a war zone.

OOC: Yes I am rebuilding a base, but instead of rebuilding my old base I am
salvaging what I can to build a new one. The main reason is that the
ramming attack reduced the dead comet that was the core of the base to
space dust. I've decided that I am just going to reclaim the Core Energy in
the debris, and what viable bioslurry I can to make a new start. Oh and I'm
explicitly building this where Chris and Ancaris can't find it at the
moment so no sudden ship arrivals blowing my construction to hell please.
And no I am not building thousands of planetkiller ships.

Oh, and OOC, please don't be building tons of CW-STGOD wormholes. Confed

But not before dying.

"Is he dead?" said the Taelon second-in-command.

"Yes," said the Taelon medic, who was not kidding, wrong, or exaggerating. "He is
one hundred percent dead. His body is so badly charred I almost didn't recognize
him. Nothing could save this boy. Ever. I say that with the total knowledge of all
the technology that has ever been developed. Core Energy will do nothing to solve
this problem."

The others, Transcend's senior staff, nodded their heads sadly. He was so dead. They
had never seen anyone quite that dead before. Between them, they all had total
knowledge of each and every secret project and ability that the Taelons were working
on. But nothing could save a man this dead. Nothing.

"Oh well," said the second-in-command. "Shoot his body into space for an honorable
funeral."

And they did. They shot him into space and they watched as his body flew into a star.
The star was coincidentally then hit by an asteroid which impacted at the exact same
point as Transcend's body, smashing up the ashes and scattering them.

"We will continue without Transcend," said all of the Taelons.

"We must quickly move to save what is left of his mind however, " the medic
said, "for it may still hold some spark of what humans call a soul. His CVI
is still mostly functional, and from that we should be able to recover his
memories. It is tricky, but it has precident with Companion Protector
Boone."

The procedure was started immediately, the new body was a mindless husk, a
Taelon construct however human it seemed. In fact in almost every way it
was human, even human DNA, and would fool all but the most dedicated
scanning equipment. The CVI was extracted and place into the matrix. His
knowledge was extracted, and what you could call Transcend's soul was
transferred. The tricky part came next, if the mind rejected the body, or
the body rejected the mind, there would be no recovery.

Slowly his eyes opened, his new quasi-human body awoke. "Are you alright
sir?", the medic asked. Transcend nodded and got up, he was very busy, in
addition to all the things he had to do he now had to attend his own
funeral, and get used to a new skrill symbiote.

OOC: Ok so I lied, I do have a way to come back, but it is tricky and
requires my original body. It is also very expensive to do. And it's
something the Taelon's can't do to themselves, so that part wasn't exactly
a lie. Also I can't produce troops this way, or bring many back from the
dead, this can only be used for the absolute best and most important,
namely me.

[The Funeral]

"Transcend lived... um... well, he lived quite... um, well... he was alive,
technically..." said the chaplain. Transcend sat, listening to his own eulogy.
Suddenly, he couldn't take it anymore. Rising from the chair, he screamed, "I
CANNOT LIVE THIS LIFE OF LIES! THIS IS NOT... MY... BODY!"
Before anyone could stop him, Transcend bolted from the room and headed to the
shuttlebay and got in a small craft. This craft had been under development for
days.
"Uh oh," the chief engineer said, since he happened to be hanging around. "I hope
he's not planning to get in that small craft, which is undetectable to all of our
best sensors and indeed, light years beyond other Taelon technology, and head in the
other direction forever."
"I am!" said Transcend. He got in and did that. Heading directly away from all
things Taelon. In fact, anything regarding civilization.
The same bunch of senior staff that had been around earlier ran in, a moment too
late. "Drat!" said one. "Maybe he'll change his mind."
"Not likely," said the engineer, who had personally designed the shuttlecraft and
knew each and every detail about it. "There's a bug in the systems that doesn't allow
course to be changed, or weapons to be fired, or anyone to be contacted via any form
of communication system, or anything really."
"Hmm," said the medic, who was there for little discernable reason. "Perhaps we
can just use our CVI Magnet(tm) again and put him in a new body."
"Nope," said the engineer. "That craft is the first in the line of CVI Shielded
vessels, which utterly prevents the transfer of any kind of CVI nonsense between the
shuttle and everything else. That CVI is totally gone to us."
    "But--"
    "Totally. Gone. To. Us."
    "Can't we catch him?"
    "No."
"But our drives allow instantaneous transportation to anywhere in the universe,"
said the first officer, who might have been right and might have been wrong. "Surely
we could just appear in front of him and catch him."
"Wrong," said the engineer. "He's got an even faster form of the same drive. And
we don't know where he is. The shuttle also has an error where it randomly turns and
goes a different direction sometimes, but always flies away from anything regarding
civilization."
"Remind me," said the first officer, "why this was just left operational in the
shuttlebay again?"
"Don't know," said the chief engineer. "We did fix the fuel problem. It'll never
run out of fuel!"
"Well," said the first officer, "we'll just have to go on without Transcend. Now
I have an order for everyone." He walked up to a panel or something and hit some
series of buttons, which activated... fuck it. It was an intercom. A loud one that
every Taelon everywhere could hear. It was a CVI Intercom.
"Attention all Taelons. This is the first officer of whatever ship I'm a part of.
Transcend is gone forever. We have exhaustively determined that nothing, ever, can
save him. If he should ever change his mind, it will not matter. If he should attempt
to contact us, it will not matter. He is super duper uber gone."
"I realize this will be hard on many of you," he continued. "So I am imposing a
new program to help us grieve. Anyone attempting to fight the inevitable and proposing
a solution to get Transcend home will be executed, no questions asked. If you even
think about it, I will pick it up through CVI and I will execute you in your sleep
myself. Every senior officer is committed to this program."
He was very right. Each and every senior officer everywhere, and all of the
leaders of the Taelon military, and, as they were informed of it, every Taelon citizen
and non-citizen and in fact everyone, was instantly totally committed to the program.
If anyone changed their mind, they would be executed immediately. In fact, the first
officer was so amazing that a hypnotic suggestion had been planted in their brains so
that they'd kill THEMSELVES before they allowed themselves to change their own mind.

[H-Wing II Starfighter _Futility_]

 "Hm, what's this?"

A bounty hunter, concealed inside his HEV mk.VII, scanned the displays of the
heavy starfighter for any new information. His eye swept down the HoloNet
reciever, and finally he found what he was looking for.

"So, somebody wants Transcend dead. I wonder why..."

He scrolled down, and began to read to himself the public CIN Network
News reports on the Taelon conflicts.

"Grand Admiral Ancaris, the O'Farrell Hegemony, and the Sanchez Research &
Development Corporation launched a surprise attack on the main Taelon shipyards
of the Alpha Quadrant, using a new battleship, the _Bismark._ The Taelon yards
were totally destroyed, knocking their total production back by several orders of magnitude."

The bounty hunter let out a whistle, which was muffled by his HEV suit. He then
leaned back in the chair.

 "So... that's why there's a fifty-thousand bounty on Transcend."

He tapped the interface for a few seconds, then muttered to himself again.

 "I'll take it."

Then, Crayz9000 stopped. "How do you catch a Taelon?" he wondered out
loud, completely unsure of the new arrivals to the galaxy.

[Former Taelon Shipyard - + 0300 hours]

The _Futility_ dropped out of hyperspace on the edge of the shattered shipyard,
sensor stealthed and all but invisible. It accelerated slowly but surely as its gravitic
stealth drive mechanism kicked in, moving it towards a crippled Taelon freighter.

The small starfighter came alongside the hulk, attaching to it with the barest of shudders.
Then, its hull cutter activated, slicing a hole in the hull of the larger ship.

Crayz9000 scrambled down the ladder, his Mk.VII suit protecting him from any
noxious odors or harmful fumes that might be in the crippled ship. Carefully, he began
to walk along a passageway, warily looking for any surviving crewmen that might
hold a grudge against a lone bounty hunter.

Eventually, he reached the ship's tiny engine room, and looked around to figure
out what on earth the ID drive was. According to all recent reports, the interdimensional
technology was incompatible with most... what the hell, it didn't matter.

There. That was the ID drive. Crayz9000 walked over, and inspected the
drive unit. _Perfect,_ he thought.

[New York, New York - July 25, 1994]

With an earsplitting bang, a dark black shape streaked out of the clouds and headed
directly for what appeared to be an old firehouse. It landed on the roof with some
creaking, but finally stabilized.

There was a single sign on the firehouse, which would seem strange for a public building.
No lettering was printed on it, only a caricature of a ghost with a red circle and slash over it.

Several minutes later, the dark form lifted off the firehouse and vanished again into the clouds.

* * *

[Taelon Interdimensional Space]

"You can't hurt me," a Taelon almost sneered. "I'm an energy being."

A filtered voice came through the orange-and-black suited person's helmet.
"Ever hear of the USS Equinox? They were stranded in the Delta Quadrant with
the USS Voyager, and tried to use a race of energy beings as fuel."

The Taelon, a transport captain, smiled. "Yes, and they were promptly destroyed."

"You claim that you don't know where Transcend is, right?" As the glowing being
nodded, the bounty hunter paused. "So, have you ever heard of the Ghostbusters?"

The energy being became noticeably fidgety.

"Then I'd like to introduce you to something called the 'Gluon Gun.'"

With that, Crayz9000 brought his mechanical right arm down, holding a hose-
like assembly with it.

"Since you haven't told me where Transcend is, I'd like to see you transcend THIS!"

He fired the excited beam of high-energy subatomic particles at the obstinate
Taelon, initially with no noticeable effect. Gradually, however, it began to take an
effect, and the Taelon started to struggle in a futile attempt to become disentangled
from the ecto-ethereal energy beam. With a final flash like a hologram, it disappeared.

Crayz9000 shut the Gluon Gun off, noting the green light that was blinking on the
backpack containment trap. Immediately, he sprinted for his ship, tossed the pack
aboard, and fired up the stolen ID drive.

* * *

[Location Unknown]

What greeted Crayz9000 as the _Futility_ emerged from ID was a maelstrom of
colors, a perverted image of space as most knew it. Quickly, he ejected the contents
of the small cargo bay into the ether.

Somewhat sweaty inside his suit, he gripped the joystick and sent off a burst from
the dorsal laser turret, obliterating the ecto-ethereal trap. A bare microsecond later,
he re-engaged the ID drive and vanished from the ether.

* * *

The Taelon felt the containing magnetic bottle vaporize around him, setting him free
again. He was slightly curious as to why he had been set free, and looked around.

What greeted him looked like an escapee from a freak show. It was, quite frankly,
hideous.

It spoke to him with a voice equally as hideous. "ARE YOU A GOD?" the creature
half-asked, half-shouted.

_Things are certainly strange,_ he thought to himself. _Maybe I'm just imagining this..._

The creature spoke again. "ARE YOU A GOD?"

_OK,_ he thought, _so I'm not imagining this._ He finally spoke. "Uh... no?"

This time, the creature was silent. Suddenly, something in the back of the
Taelon's conscience clicked.

 _Gozer,_ he thought. _It's Gozer._

It was the last thought he would have.

[SCEF Shipyard Beta, Sirius IV - The Next Day]

Several commanders sat around a farily standard black conference table,
apparently in a heated argument.

"The High Command just gave us the authorization to fire C-II Gamma.
Do we fire or not?" one asked.

"No." another replied. "We can't risk the damage an interdimensional
wormhole might cause."

"Nonsense!" yet another commander objected. "It just means that we have
to screen the wormhole carefully and make sure there isn't too much
interference. That's what the message from the CIN was about."

* * *

[C-II Gamma - 13 Hours Later]

 "Wormhole formed, ferrets moving through."

"Ferrets reporting in, wormhole terminates in the correct location."

 Commodore Hyalski nodded.

"Let's see what comes through, Lieutenant."

[Sol II - Same Time]

A somewhat battered H-wing mk.I starfighter shot past several Belisarius-class
vessels, fleeing from its pursuers - two Romulan Warbirds. The Warbirds spat
green fire from their disruptor arrays, barely missing the starfighter as it jinked
randomly. Then, just as the H-wing slipped between the Belisarius-class vessels,
a wormhole appeared directly in the path of the Warbirds. With no time to stop,
they shot into the wormhole.

Halfway around Sol, a Victory-class Star Destroyer floated serenely, separated
from the destruction it had caused. With a hardly noticeable flicker of pseudomotion,
it vanished into hyperspace.

[VSD _Vader's Choice_]

The stars tumbled wildly around the viewports, causing Darth Transcend to
nearly vomit from dizziness.

 "Stabilizers!" he managed to order.

The Victory's thrusters kicked on, slowly halting the warship's random spin.

"Sithspawn!" he exclaimed as the view became stable enough. "What did we do,
run into the Rebel Fleet?"

"We're at Sirius, Lord Transcend." a lieutenant reported as calmly as possible.
"Only problem is, the installations here don't match our reports."

The Sith Lord ran his eyes across the viewports, trying to figure out just what was
happening. He discerned several hundred other Victory-class Star Destroyers, plus
many larger, hammer-headed battleships that he'd never seen before. And in the center
of a pair of binary planets - _binary planets? In Sirius?_ sat a fat sausage shape...

"Get us back to Sol, Commander. Immediately."

The VSD dropped out of hyperspace, and discovered they weren't quite in the
right place. "Commander Transcend sir, all sensors confirm this *is* the
Sol system.....but it does not appear to be the same one we left," the
sensor tech said. "Are you telling me that we are stranded in an unknown
universe with no resources or allies Ensign?", Transcend asked. The Ensign
nodded with a look of shock and horror on his face. Transcend turned to the
navigational officer, the fool that had somehow gotten them into this mess,
and stretched out with the Force. Less then a second later the man's body
dropped to the floor, dead. It was really amazing what bursting a few
arteries in the brain could do. "Clean this mess up immediately," he
ordered. Now they had important work to do, trying to find some Imperial
forces, or something like them anyway, to align with to obtain needed
supplies and repairs.

Taelon scientists have discovered a means to permenently seal off our
universe from this one, we have therefore decided to leave this universe
completely. Recent actions have convinced us that it is dangerous for the
commonality for us to remain here, and allowing the connection between
realities to continue to exist would be a terrible threat to us. Therefore
we are withdrawing all forces from ASVS space. This is our final message.

"Hello Darth Transcend, or his clone, or whoever you are.  We've brought
you here to kill you." stated Lord Graeme

"Kill me!  You don't stand a chance." screamed Darth Transcend.

"Please Transcend, what do you think you can do to me?"

"I will destroy you!" Darth Transcend yelled as he removed a lightsabre
from a hidden fold in his robes and ignited it.  He lept at Graeme who
was shocked by the sudden attack.

The sabre hit Graeme just above his right shoulder and carved a gash
down to his gut before his other arm grabbed Transcend's wrist in an
iron grip.  Transcend tried to push the sabre further into Graeme's
body, but was stopped by the other man's powerful grasp.

Speaking through teeth clenched with pain, Graeme whispered in a voice
as cold as death "I don't appreciate it when people try to kill me.  I
suggest you let go of your weapon now before I am forced to hurt you."

"Hurt me?  You will be dead in seconds!" replied Transcend.

"So be it then.", said Graeme as he snapped Transcend's wrist and
grabbed the sabre.  By this time, the saber had completely removed
Graeme's right arm, lung, and half of his digestive tract.  Turning the
deadly weapon off, Lord Graeme advanced on Transcend, trailing his
entrails behind him.  "It takes a good deal more than that to kill me
Transcend, but for the pain that you've caused I will kill you."  Lord
Graeme the grabbed the Sith Lord by the neck with his remaining arm,
hoisted him into the air, and smashed him into the bulkhead repeatedly.

When the dark Jedi fell limp, Graeme walked back over to where his
mangled internal organs lay on the ground and retrieved them.  They were
far too damaged to reattach properly, he would simply have to wait for
himself to heal.  "Damn him but I'll be sore in the morning," Graeme
remarked to one of his guards, "I hear the chef was planning something
special tonight as well.  Tell him to wait till tomorrow, there's no
point in trying to eat supper with your stomach cut in half."

As Graeme slowly walked out of the cell, his wounds began to knit and
heal.  Transcend however, would not be so lucky.  His body was
immediately incinerated in the nearby prison crematorium.

The portal opened into the Embassy, the enrgy shield was renewed and an
advanced Vapour Hazard neutralising system was still in the process of
being grown inside the Building itself. The Embasy staff that had been
killed had been returned to the Commonality as was the custom of the
Taelons (ooc I think). Transcend looked around in disgust, how could so
many have been effectively "killed" by an acid compound. The electrolytic
properties the Bile had shown were phenomenal and R&D were desperately
searching for a solution - to date it was however a case of neutralise
after it was dispensed, they would still suffer casualties in a similar
strike just not so many.

"I'm heading to the office, you guys get yourselves sorted out." He said to
the B-S's, "Hey, you did great out there. Lets hope it shows others the
consequences of striking against the Taelon/Terran Alliance!" He turned
away as the B-S's trooped off for maintenance of their bodies. Entering the
Embassy he moved throught the VG partitions and headed for the stairs. His
office was on the top floor, adjacent to Da'ors. He was looking forward to
some rest and a drink.

One hour later he was not a happy companion protector, not only had the
Taelon Intelligence service ascertained that the Bismark was only damaged
not destroyed; but even worse a Taelon Freighter captain had been forcably
removed from the commonality. Col. Transcend seethed inside, this was
intolerable. Something would have to be done to  prevent future attempts at
the same thing. He reached for his Comm and started to compose a message
for all T/TA members currently in this Universe, then the alarms sounded.

By reflex his skrill was sweeping the room, as his feet carried him to the
door that led directly to Da'or's personal room. Bursting in, his other
hand activating the link to the Security centre, he saw the luminous
presence of the Taelon in it's natural form. "Sir are you alright?".

"I am well, Col. however I believe there may be a matter for you to deal
with?" The creature gestured to the walls, which now showed a static fuzz
from the external security veiwers. "I would appreciate a speedy resolution
to this, Protector." the last word heavily stressed.

Transcend felt chagrined, yes he had been caught flatfooted here of
late but now he could deal with things in a Physical and violent manner -
excellent for calming the nerves. "I'll deal with it personally, nothing
will get to you sir." He was already keying the code to lock down the
interior of the Enbassy from the 2nd floor up. Nothing was getting up here
and the same code had the QRF of 25 B-S's rushing from the guardroom to
stand guard in and around Da'ors room.

As he headed out, he stopped at the end of the corridor and checked the
positioning of the guards, " you 2 move to this end of the passage, I want
you covering this corner." Satisfied he headed down the stairs, the VG
shields opening to allow him past and then sealing again. On the 3rd floor
he detoured to the Security centre to personally get a feel for what was
happening.

"Report!" He barked entering, the screens on the walls tking all his
attention as the B-S's in the room began giving him a summary to date. In
truth he could have accessed them through his comm. but this worked better
for him. His mind could work with a literal big picture better than the
series of smaller ones the comm would feed him.

"Sir, the alarms have registered massive damage to the Embassy structure.
We have not however detected a breach of the shields. Guards sent to the
area have failed to report and all security equipment has been destroyd in
that position. We have 50 guards ready to assualt the position."

"Tell them to wait, I'll lead them myself!" Trascend turned and sprinted
out.

Turning the corner for the stairs he smelt cigar smoke. As his skrill came
up he felt a hand clamp on his mouth with inhuman strength. Another held
his left arm just below the elbow. Looking into Rob's eyes he saw
amusement.

"Hey Trannie." Rob whispered, "Know what? I bet if I took my hand away from
your mouth in the next 5 seconds, your scream would tumble the building."

Transcend looked with puzzlement at the Man holding him captive, then he
felt the heat on his left arm. As he started to squirm the Plasma bolt
materialised, flew through his arm and cuaterised the stump in one motion.
He watched in A state of shock as the left forearm hit the ground, the
Skrill still attached. He was so shocked it wasn't until they reached the
central Lobby that he realised they must have passed through 4 VG shields,
they hd obviously opened for him, but Rob had walked right through them.

"Nice big Lobby you have here, trannie. Very ...roomy." Rob grinned and
with a whoosh of outrushing air a Lambda class shuttle appeared in the
Lobby. Rob jumped off the 3rd floor landing and ran straight up the open
ramp, transcend over his shoulder. Looking backwards Transcend saw the
Lobby change into a Hangar - filled with NR troops.

"Here you go Cmdr. As promised one Transcend for interrogation."

"Thanks Rob, put him in the statis tank and we'll take it from here!."

[OOC]
My Bio-electric field allows me to pass through Energy shields and
is fed by the energy my body produces. A side-effect of this is that I can
only be seen in visible light spectrum veiwers as everything else is
feeding the B-E field. The signature of the B-E field is very specific and
would require enourmous amounts of luck to discover by accident or random
spectrum scans.

There that should account for everything and give all sides something to
work from.
