Description:
- Rob says: Ohhh man, what to say about 80 Knight? I haven't seen such an idiotic, egotistical, holier-than-thou Retardo-Trekkie since PAUL JACQUES H.JR. 80 Knight was in and out of alt.startrek.vs.starwars, but came back here about two or three weeks ago with a link to a Conan O'Brien skit that poked fun at Star Wars fans. He claimed that he only posted it because it was "funny" and thought that us Star Wars fans would laugh at it (an assumption which was disproven later on, as we shall see). Why he didn't post it to AFS or RASSM is beyond me...it makes one wonder whether or not he posted it to ASVS merely to stir the shit.
- Anyway, shortly after I called him out on that with a quick link to the film Trekkies, I posted a thread to ASVS regarding scale and perspectives, containing links to images such as this one and this other one. As you may notice, the artist accidentally reversed the numbers for the length for the E-D (it's 640m, not 460). Of course, 80 Knight was quick to say "Too bad that this information is incorrect. A Galaxy Class starship is not 460 Meters in length, it is well over 600." I replied "And this makes a difference because...?"
- "Because a Galaxy class starship can kick the asses of anything in the pethetic SW universe."
- Which is a really odd way to answer that question. Anyway, this kicked off a huge flamewar where 80 Knight proved himself to be THE BIGGEST FUCKING MORONIC RETARDO-TREKKIE EVER SEEN. EVER. It turned, because of him, into a popularity contest. Every argument he posted was quickly and ruthlessly crushed, but he dodged them with a series of strawman attacks and red herrings, as shown SO well here:

And his response:
WOW!!! And it STILL falls behind Titanic!! A movie where everyone KNOWS the
ending!!! What a thing to be proud of!!!

- Can you see the sort of intellect we're facing here? This is the sort of person who will, in the face of overwhelming defeat, pick a nit and wave it around like a banner.
- His other argument regarding why Star Trek is more popular than Star Wars? Well, 80 Knight is also good at taking our counter-arguments and twisting them to his own means. When I replied with the Trekkies link he used that as proof that Star Trek had a larger and more influental fan base, backed up with the Space Shuttle Enterprise and a whole bunch of bullshit about how Star Trek invented cellphones and computer chips and all this shit, and thus was more popular. That's right, completely unsupported evidence and hearsay, along with out-of-context evidence and bullshit. 80 Knight is the Trekkie's Trekkie. He'll wave every bit of evidence he has and attach bells, whistles and gongs to them, but almost totally ignore our counter-evidence. Truly delusional.
- I suppose we should feel sorry for him. After all, since he has social-phobia, he probably doesn't have a real life at all.
- Chuck says: I want to take Dalton's point to the next level and point out just how absurd 80Knight's logic is in dissing Star Wars for not breaking Titanic's record. I looked up Star Trek's highest grossing film, which is Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, which barely makes it within the top two hundred US grossing films (it's not even on the world-wide list at any position worth mentioning) at 199 and taking in $109,713,132. Let's look at what films it couldn't beat.
- Twins: Spock's humor unable to top the comedic stylings of Arnold Schwarzenegger.
- Karate Kid, Part II: Yes, not only could Star Trek not defeat a Ralph Macchio movie, it couldn't even beat the SEQUEL to a Ralph Macchio movie.
- You've Got Mail: Star Trek couldn't beat a movie based on an AOL wav file.
- Big Momma's House: People care more about Martin Lewis in a fat suit than James Doohan without one.
- Nutty Professor II: Star Trek loses to a sequel to Eddie Murphy's remake of a Jerry Lewis movie
- Dumb & Dumber: No amount of Kirk-Spock banter can top Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels hilarious discussions of dead parrots
- Lethal Weapon 4: Yes, Star Trek 4 gets trounced by Lethal Weapon 4.
- The Flintstones: Stoneage Family outdoes the crew of the space age
- The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Star Trek gets beaten by a film about Tim Curry in drag
- Patch Adams: Star Trek, bastion of science, loses to a medical film where the title character announces that "In the whole of the animal kingdom, only man kills his own species." If this film is that stupid, what's that say about Star Trek?
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Outdone by a film about pizza eating reptiles who practice martial arts. Oh the shame...
- Mrs. Doubtfire: Patch Adams meets Rocky Horror Picture Show, and it trounces Trek
- Taken against this, the fact that Star Wars comes in at #2 in the US and #3 worldwide sure doesn't seem that bad does it? The fact is that Star Wars beat ALL of these movies that outdid Trek's best effort (its only film to break the $100,000,000 mark in the US).
- I hope, though, that this shows how ridiculous this thinking is. Box Office numbers certainly are important, but it is not the measure of a film's quality by any means, as it should be obvious that Titanic is not the best film ever made. Look at the world-wide figures for Star Wars films and you'll note that Empire (which many consider the best of the saga) is at the bottom and Phantom Menace (which many feel is the worst) is at the top. It's silly to think that Mrs. Doubtfire is better than Star Trek IV, and it's just as silly to think that Titanic is better than all other films. This kind of thinking shows why 80Knight is on the ITAI list.
- Guest Commentator Colin Witz says: Now let's see now. In Child Development there are four levels of mental development:
- Unknowing, but insisting that they know everything (Preschool and Adolescence)
- Unknowing, but aware that they DON'T know everything (Early Grade School, College)
- Developing, and Learning
- Trained and Continuing to Learn
A child makes statements and attacks without having any backing in reality or
research.
A more mature being looks first for information to support their own opinion
Better then that look at what arguments might be used against you, and place
your self in your oppositions role to better your skills and attack
The final step is when one can admit to their errors and work one ones own
betterment not just for the sake of Argument.
80 Knight yet to graduate beyond the emotional development of a preschooler, or
a rebellious adolescent, based on his apparent social development, and his
sexual refences I would have to place his age at around 12 to 14, either that or
an adult who has never developed emotionally/severe abuse case.

But I do not suffer trolls and idiots such as yourself very well! I know
you. I've seen you here before. I know you are a Retardo-Trekkie. I know
you posted that movie merely to stir the shit. I know you're trolling
since you're some 14-year-old loser with an inferiority complex who got
a free pair of balls with his internet account. I know you have nothing
better to do. I know you have no life. I know you have to find some way
to compensate for your jealousy and other inadequacies. I know, because
I've seen many like you come and go, spouting the same old rhetoric,
smearing the same old bullshit across the boards, merely because you
seek attention. You are, in short, a prime candidate for the Star Trek
Support Group.

Or at least 40 year old gay pedophiles who say they're women.

Really we're jealous of you? That's strange because I can't recall
feeling jealous when I was playing drunken twister at 3 am with two of
my hot female dormmates (admittedly they were just DTs but it was
fun).

>What about NBC's comic dog? Did you not see the movie I posted a while ago?
>It made fun of YOU and your friends. Perhaps you should take a look at it.
So what. Triumph the Comic Insult Dog made fun of Star Wars fans.
Big fucking deal. Triumph's purpose is SUPPOSED to be to insult
people! And we should feel threatened when he does what he's supposed
to do? All this proves is that you're a retard, for thinking that
Triumph the Comic Insult Dog ripping on Star Wars fans is anything
remarkable.
You truly are remarkable... FOR ME TO POOP ON!!!

Ask youself: What is cooler: a transporter, or a laser sword? You're
going to say lightsaber, unless you're a fucking retard.
...
I'm guessing you'll say transporter.
Later...
And he did say Transporter, because if you blow up your own ship, you can teleport away. What a brilliant reason.

Why don't you ride the Short Bus back to wherever the fuck you came from, you cretinous sack of stupidity?
Fighting the Troll: Iceberg
Do you have even a measurable fraction of a SINGLE IQ point? Or are you simply drooling at random on your keyboard?

80 Knight: "Actually, I believe I have taken care of most of your questions."
Stuart Mackey: "One actually, and I had to coax that out of you, which is yet more evidence that you are no more than a trollish wankstain."
80 Knight: "Listen to me you inbread hillbilly, why do you not just go back to sucking your mother's tits, and leave me the hell alone."
Stuart Mackey: "Oh, poor baby, the nasty warsie make you cry? oh boo hoo. Cant stand the heat then get out of the newsgroup.
Your Concession is accepted on all points, motherfucker."

I know, sucking on your Mom's tits is fun but she's got a lot of
customers so I only get half an hour.

Wow, now that second sentence has to be a contender for memorable Quotes
in your Section of the ITAI.
Well done on effortlessly identifying yourself as a complete moron, please
