Ancient Battle
Reinvoked
Fire once again is
Stoked
Older foes at war again
The will of God set forth by men
Claims of their sovereignity
Inciting others enmity
A wall a tomb a temple mount
Control of these is tantamount
Ask these selfish bastards why
So many people have to die
Over something they can share
A place for which so many care
What is it about this place
That makes it just one nation's space
I find it all to be a pity
That the sacred holy city
Can't BE FREED FROM ANY NATION
Who claims it was their God's creation
Why not stop and try to get
An acceptable triumverate
One from each religious group
Who'll keep each other in the loop
Or maybe we can see some more
Of this stupid goddamned war
Kill each other go ahead
No one can rule if all are dead
If those in charge did care for
